2001 Infiniti G35: a new lease on life

Thanks for your nice comment FinalTouch! I really appreciate that, I guess being fussy about things that would bug us is all part our obsession. I like to call a good detail "getting a new car without the new car price!" The best feeling is knowing that you have made the car more enjoyable...

That puts me out of contention until sunday then, I should have waited to do that write up on the G35 haha. Thanks Wendell.

    Im Making a Homemade Wax

This is something I have always wanted to do so my hat is off to you! Are you planning on commercially producing this or is it more of a hobby type experiment? Either way, I am definately subscribing. :)

I hope my entry is ok, these are the details I am most proud of and are representitive of what I strive for. http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/show-n-shine/27155-2001-infiniti-g35-new-lease-life.html http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/show-n-shine/23866-correction-classic-saab-900-a.html...

LC CCS and Flat Pad difference/comparison

While CCS pads are certainly good in their own right, I find that flat pads offer much more control and feel smoother over panel transitions. My biggest grip against CCS pads has always been that they lack the bevelled edges that the flat Lake Country pads have.

2001 Infiniti G35: a new lease on life

Thank you Rohn! It was definately in need of some help but it was nice to get a bit of a challenge. Haha, thanks Mike! I would have loved to have a bio suit though, especially because of the dog hair as I am allergic so I was sneezing through the whole interior. I only wish I could have done...

2001 Infiniti G35: a new lease on life

Thanks Indy, I was definately happy that the owner was pleased. They want me to do their minivan which is in the same condition, money is money! I know, I understand the exterior being grimy if the car is on the road year round but I would at least keep the interior clean just because that is...

2001 Infiniti G35: a new lease on life

Exterior Afters: felt a little let down on the exterior because of the wheels, but after I removed the contamination, the paint really gained a lot of gloss and looked so much better than before. Here is a 50/50 shot of how well Aquartz can treat and restorer plastic and rubber trim...

2001 Infiniti G35: a new lease on life

Interior After: I was very very happy with the interior, even more so than the exterior because I knew the owner would be the happiest with a more pleasant driving environment above all else. Favorite interior shot:

2001 Infiniti G35: a new lease on life

I began by testing an area to see how much work was needed for the leather. This center section is representive of all the leather and plastic panels of the car. One light pass, not enough: Another pass, now we are talking. That used to be a clean MF, that dirt was just from the one center...

2001 Infiniti G35: a new lease on life

I was called by the owners of this Ivory white Infiniti G35 sedan to clean the car on very short notice. The owner of this car is on the road constantly for his job, living out of this car as he drives around the country. Unfortunately, this means that not only does the car get used alot, but it...

    BMW 750Li Charity Detail

Thanks for the kind words! I have been using XMT360 on most of my details recently because it just does a very good job as an AIO. I wish I could do more correction details but most of my customers just don't see the value in it so a one step AIO really helps out on time and looks. Thank you...

    Using just 4" pads?

The smaller the pad on a DA buffer such as a PC, the more cut you will get. It will not be a huge difference between say a 5.5" pad and a 4" pad but the smaller ones will cut a bit more. That said, I think it is best to use both and see which one is most comfortable. I personally prefer using...

what shop vacs do you guys use?

I have a 5hp, 12 gallon Shop Vac that I got for $35 off of Amazon and that thing sucks up anything and everything that you face it with. I also use it to suck dirty water out of our fountain and it empties the whole thing in 10 seconds flat (5 gallons of water).

Afters: I was very happy with the results of the one step AIO session as the minimal marring that was there was nearly all taken care of and gloss really amped up. I was most happy with how well the interior looked too, quite a luxurious back seat! The sun peeking out, a bit...
