Great advice. I went thru a bout with black trim on a 2002 Volvo. Took a while but I finally got it to where the maintenance on it is pretty easy.
Find a product you like and use it often!!

aggressive enough to cut the crap and clean the funk..
This pic was 24 hrs after test spot and no protection..

That's about what I've determined. It's faded, oxidized and all..
Mike's article on black trim nailed it. When your trim is new "find something you like and use it often"
I've still got a couple of things I'm going to try.. But the fixit products aren't made for the trim in this shape...
They are pretty much bullet proof. Never had any issues.
Take the screen off the tank and clean the pickup filter. Nobody ever does that.

Which model is it?? That's a really good deal. I bought ours new a few years ago. Pricey but worth it with carpet in the house..

Ultimate black is on one of my test spots. ;)
One has a trio of ultimate compound followed by mothers trim restorer topped with ultimate black.
And one has all the above with a coating of ultimate protectant..

Possible, but it really don't look any worse than all the demos of the restoration products I've watched. Time will tell.
