lookin' at a good way to clean the engine fins. I see some expensive foaming agents that degrease and clean. I also see Lyson foaming bathroom cleaner. it still gets rid of crap. But is it safe for the engine. The wording on the back of the can says it's good on chrome fixtures, ceramic tile, and plastic.
Hmm, sounds like a lot of the expensive stuff out there.
So has anyone used this product on their engines?

i would use a APC and don't forget to cover areas of concern (tin foil works great). not sure if it's safe on engines but probably is (check label), you can get LA's totally awesome at walmart, 99 cent only store, etc, for under $2...

Yeah ASP is best for the bikes cleaning.I used it many time in my workshop.Its have a good result but avoid its extra using,it damages the parts if you use it in excess amount.It have a good a quality.Many other cleaners are also available in the market but always use a good quality,its risky to use a low quality for you engine cleanup.

I would be really, really careful with the tin foil seeing how its a very good conductor of electricity. I wouldn't want to fry something because of a stray wire strand. Plastic wrap works great too!
 
How funny, I was at a bicycle shop and they had LATA for sale, like $6 a bottle!

Well this is what my motorcycle looks like after 23 years and it isn't a so-called garage queen. Its been on a few long distant tours and many day and weekend tours.

I just had the headers off to buff them.

Pretty clean for an old bike.

Product used...Swish Facto AT30, a toothbrush and a 1" paintbrush.
 
Yeah its very important to clean not only engine but the whole vehicle.By this act we can not only use our ride for long time but also it will not bother us on road.
 
I havery used the s100 engine brightener on the black engine parts on my bike including the fins. It works real nice, also give pig spit a look.
 
S100 engine brightener works wonders on the engine black as well as the fins.
Also I've heard a lot of good things on a product called pig spit.
I'm going to try it when spring rolls around.
