    help-cleaning tires

Are you going to apply a tire gel/shine? Sometimes it's not totally necessary to remove all the browning (tires do this naturally, it's not necessarily an indication of dirt), and it may disappear after you shine the tire.

Need help with detailing a truck.

Also, be sure to polish from the middle of the car -> out -- this way, if you have to rub up against the sides of the car when you're doing the middle, you'll take out any potential scratches as you work your way outwards.

What gauge/length extension cord for PC7424XP?

On a related note, I have a GG6 (3rd gen) with the normal 15' cord and purchased a 25' 16AWG extension cord after receiving confirmation from a GG rep that this would be suitable. He did suggest that for a 50' or longer extension cord that 14AWG would be preferred.

    Is it possible

You could also try some M105/205 or another compound and a cheap microfiber towel assuming you already have some laying around. I've done 105/205 on exhausts with good results.

Just bought a GG. Do I NEED to buy a 5" backing plate?

People prefer them for a few reasons, here are a few I can think of: -you can apply more pressure without slowing the pad down so much -price -sometimes a wider variety of pad types/colors -fits into smaller areas/panels, but still has good coverage -6.5" pads can be thicker than many 5.5" pads...

    Trim?

303 Aerospace Protectant is almost always a popular choice for plastics & trim, especially those exposed to sunlight.

    Pollen ?

You could just wipe down the panel with a QD right before you apply your sealant.

    New GG6 ( sealant pads?)

If you're sticking with the stock backing plate, you want 6.5" pads. If you want to buy a 5" backing plate, then you can go with 5.5" pads. The 6.5" pads tend to be thicker, and are (obviously) bigger. It's mostly just a tradeoff of how much space you work at a time, and price (the 5.5" pads...

    Megs apc+ question

You could pour some into another container and just save it for later. To be honest though you probably won't see much of a difference between an 8:1 dilution and a 10:1. Especially for just cleaning carpets or other interior surfaces.

    Megs apc+ question

Why not just pour some out and cut it down to the recommended 10:1 if you really want to be safe?

    Lexol cleaner/conditioner?

I will say that the conditioner definitely doesn't have a great/pleasing smell to it. I also don't think it's meant to be applied that frequently -- probably more of an every couple months type of thing. Would it hurt? Probably not... but is it worth it? Probably not... That's just me though.

New Car Day! Black 2014 Mustang GT Track Pack!

I got the (pre-2013) Shelby GT500 exhaust. It's a direct bolt-on setup (as opposed to the 2013 GT500 which requires a whole new rear valence) and ran about $300 shipped. You'll find the Boss exhaust to cost quite a pretty penny. I love the sound -- it's still quiet at warm idle, but you can...

New Car Day! Black 2014 Mustang GT Track Pack!

So I've just been lurking here for a while trying to build my knowledge before I really start investing in a product arsenal and doing any advanced detailing, but I felt like I had to post in this thread due to the similarity of our cars: Mine's almost the exact same as yours but a model year...
