Removing sap on White vinyl convertible top?

Hey thanks for the reply. I was thinking of trying paint thinner but then thought just as you said there would be a few super clean spots and it would stand out haha! I forgot to add, tried APC as well and it didn't touch the sap either Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    What am I missing?!

Good list so far, that covers most of the basics. I'd add 2 wash mitts of some sort. If your budget allows check out some decently priced steam cleaners. It might seem a bit scary using it the first go but it's a quick learning curve and you'll get hang of it. You might think just starting...

Removing sap on White vinyl convertible top?

Hi all, Any ideas for removing tree sap from a 04 Mustang vinyl convertible top? So far I've tried 50/50 IPA mix, straight IPA which didn't do anything and what has worked the best so far, Stoner Tarminator which took off most of the sap but still left a very visible but much more faint...

    White vinyl convertible cleaning

Thanks for the reply MPBGT. I actually just realized I was using my 50%/%50 APC mix. I'll try full strength tomorrow on it hopefully that helps. Swanicyouth- no, just if it appears that the color is already off. I know that what I'm using will not strip it off but this particular top I'm...

    White vinyl convertible cleaning

Hey Guys, I'm trying to clean up this 04 Mustang's white vinyl convertible top. Does this look like the paint is off the surface or just that the products using (APC and a brush) not enough? I hit it with my steamer too without a huge difference. It seems to be getting cleaner in some areas but...

CM8802FN PTG - Has anyone been able to calibrate?

Kinda..sorta solved it. I'm still getting some random measurements. It's weird because it was be dead on and then shoot up 10mils.. I'm thinking it's gotta be calibrated at this point but there's no way to know for sure because speaking with the manufacture there's no way to confirm or set the...

CM8802FN PTG - Has anyone been able to calibrate?

Thanks for the replies and PMs guys! I'm still working on getting it calibrated correctly but it seems to be working okay for the most part... other than a few random readings when testing on the shims provided. Thought this might be helpful to someone though, I spoke with the company I...

Paint touch up on an edge?

Hey guys, My buddy is having me work on his car that has some paint transfer and a paint chip from an accident. He'd like it touched up. The location of the chip is in the crack in between the passenger door on an edge. Has anyone had to deal with a similar? Anything I should be cautious of...

CM8802FN PTG - Has anyone been able to calibrate?

Thanks for that. I tried this and it will not do anything when I hold the zero button. No beeps or anything. I was getting it perfect on the shims but then I tested on my vehicle and I was getting 3.4 all the way up to 47.6 so I don't think the unit working correctly from what I can see.

CM8802FN PTG - Has anyone been able to calibrate?

Thanks for the reply! Basically I will go to calibrate it and hit the "zero" button 3 times to make the gauge go to 0. I then put the plastic shim over the metal to calibrate it and it will read it as something way off usually so I have to use the +/- buttons to get it back down to what it...

CM8802FN PTG - Has anyone been able to calibrate?

Hey guys. Has any one actually been able to calibrate the CN8802FN paint thickness gauge. The "newer" version to the CM8801FN in the black plastic housing. I've not been able to do it with the instructions provided... I was PMing with another forum member earlier today and he had the same...

What does this look like to you? Ghosting?

I've compounded and polished, and wet sanding the area. It seems to have not done anything to lighten or remove it. What are the next steps? Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
