What does this look like to you? Ghosting?

Hey all,

There is a rubber trim piece on the doors of my Mustang (99-04s models) that always bothered me. It's about half way down on the door and runs horizontally. It looks really out of place. Yesterday I removed them and I love the look with them off.

The driver's side door piece came off with just a little bit of paint bring raised and bumpy in some areas. These wet sanded out fine and then was polished. That door looks great now. However on the passenger side there is this purple discoloration to the paint in a few places that were covered under the trim piece.

Does it look like "ghosting" to you as happens sometimes with badge removal? what would be the best steps of correcting this?

You will need to try to blend it in with the rest of the paint by compounding and polishing thought if that don't help there's always the method of touching up those problem areas

I've compounded and polished, and wet sanding the area. It seems to have not done anything to lighten or remove it. What are the next steps? Thanks

The next best thing I know of would be to touch up the trouble areas that said you have to determine whether the clear coat is missing or not if so then all you have to do is just add 3 coats of base color and clear though if the clear coat is there then ruff up the trouble spot with 2000 grit
sandpaper then mix the base color and clear color togethee and apply it to the areas once dryer sand it down carefully until flush with rest of the paintwork
