Same problem here in Michigan. Sadly just leave it until you can do it right. I hate how my car looks, but I don't want to have a 16 hour correction come spring thanks to taking it to scratch tunnels all winter long.
Living in Michigan I have dealt with road salt my whole life. Your best bet is to go to a DIY Pressure Wash facility and blast off all the salt with the warm water. Then head home and do a Waterless Wash in your garage with the heater on. At that point the car is clean enough to do most anything...

I couldn't agree more, I would be more than happy to put up with the cold if we could have some beautiful deep snow to look at. Instead it's all brown and grey slush frozen solid. Like we skipped the snowing part and went straight to deep freeze.
