Iron Decontamination on Plastic - PPF Staining

I treat my Matte painted covered with Matte PPF car the exact same way I treat my non matte, non PPF cars in regards to prep work for coating EXCEPT no correction or polishing obviously. Descale foam, dwell, rinse Iron X, rinse - or light claying with TRC Clay Sponge if needed with IronX acting...

    CSL/Exo on PPF

Volunteered to do a friends new car in GTechniq CSL/Exo for him as he’s starting to get into taking better care of his cars, so I ordered CSL/Exo, later to find out entire car is getting done in Suntek PPF, a NON top coat standard version. Normally I would do HALO on PPF, but since this version...

Any recommendations on a cordless blow dryer?

The Ego is the way to go...will probably lead to you expanding the Ego collection in the future as well as it did for me!

PPF specific coatings vs “normal” paint coatings on PPF feedback

Good to hear all the feedback. Lazy me says I didn’t want to do 2 coats :D but I think HALO it will be. Assuming just ExoV4 or CSL then is what I’ll use on the black plastic trim around the car. As I assume HALO won’t be happy bonding to that much?

PPF specific coatings vs “normal” paint coatings on PPF feedback

Thank you for the feedback. The self healing and ability to move with the film is a great point and the most important I would think. Good calls there.

PPF specific coatings vs “normal” paint coatings on PPF feedback

Hoping for some opinions / experiences as to date I have only used “normal” ceramic coatings, both on top of PPF and on paint. With the options of the vinyl/PPF specific coatings now in the marketplace, it makes sense to use the right tool for the job, but also means you would need a typical...

    Wheel Coating Water Behavior Discussion

Great write up, appreciate your time and effort. I have tried 2 different wheel coatings. Gyeon and GTechniq C5. I found the C5 to last longer and perform better/longer than Gyeon. Debating now to order up another bottle of C5 for 2020 or try something else, so great read.

    Electric pressure washer recommendations?

My experience, grab a Ryobi from your local Home Depot, or order up a Karcher 1700 from somewhere. Easy to adapt all the aftermarket stuff to with standard fittings. I have been extremely happy with the Ryobi. I’ve burned through one (as you will any low cost electric) and only had to drive a...

What the heck did the dealer spray on my car

Dealerships have PDR services spraying paint all the time for minor work out on their lots. Sure the dealers employees only paint in the booths, but the sublet work to the PDR people happens out on the lot most of the time weather permitting.

Best wash soap for harder water?

My hard water experience: 1)Adams Car Shampoo (the standard blue color one) Also did well: Geyon Bathe and GTechniq G-Wash When I do rinsless, ONR is superior in that product category.

Chemical Guys 15mm DA vs Max Shine 15mm

Hopefully my experience will help you. I purchased 2 MaxShine machines. The new updated for 2019 M15 Pro Series 5" as well as the M312 3". I made this purchase as I will use anything from 1-4 times per year (most likely) for my own stuff or helping friends. These are very good machines, dare...

    Microfiber towel Lint

Never have had any issues with the waffle weave style on my Windows. I use the “Dry Me A River” 16x16” from The Rag Company and it is the best I have used on glass for cleaning and nothing left behind.

Electric pressure washer choices and issues feedback

40-degree 2.5 nozzle 1.1mm Orifice for the foam cannon These 2 sizes seemed to be the best recommendations from all the online testing I have seen.

Electric pressure washer choices and issues feedback

Well, killed my 2nd Ryobi in as many seasons (used April/May-October/November). First went with the model that is on a rolling cart and features a built in hose reel. After that model went with one of the small portable units with the built in handle. So I am starting to look into issues, and...
