Throwing away microfiber towels after coating?

I prefer not to re-use any coating cloth for wiping off coating again. Tried that before and while the cloths looks clean, absorbency decline. Perhaps some have good methodology to restore their MF but i seriously doubt the cost and time is worth it if you are using cheaper short nap MF. I...

I agreed with that. I hope it is not an only battery tool.

    Beginner question about M105

To test whether that spot is a strike through, use a darker color microfiber and rub it with m105. It should help to see better with that paint. No point to keep polishing that spot if the clearcoat is gone. Go with M105/205 if you have the time. As for switching to ultimate compound over m105...

    Beginner question about M105

I used to use M105 for years then move on to menzerna as find it hard to control. Few years back I started to re-explore m105 and now i loved it alot more than menzerna. My product preference changes when i started to use a different pad/machine. Both are quality products, just different stroke...

    The Rotary 101

Nice thread! I agree to a certain extend. However, there are simply too many variable in play such as the compound and pad used which in my opinion are way more important. I have been polishing paint day in day out for about 9 years now and since polishing paint has to be the most time consuming...

    Sneak Peek! - New Polisher!

Nice one from Rupes. I am sure it will be a quality machine. There are actually already quite a number of gear action orbital polisher from Japan since many years back with similar orbit diameter and I am sure the concept is pretty much the same even though the design is different. In fact I...

    Lake Country HDO Foam Pads

Absolutely agree. Although I am not a fan of MF pad as I preferred wool. Having said that, I dont understand the reason of using a black mf in a pad too. Perhaps its raw material limitation or some other reason.

    Makita PO5000C/6000C

Very interesting. The jap also just launch a gear action DA recently. 2.8kg is a little heavy personally for me and I actually wish they reduce the orbit size though for more precision buffing.

Sonax Perfect Finish 4/6 and EX 04/06 the same product ?

Definitely not the same product. Perfect finish has a more 'dry' buffing cycle than ex 04/06. I always read about Perfect Finish being market for rotary and 04/06 for DA but I actually find perfect finish works much faster than 04/06. 04/06 has extremely long work time which imo may not be the...

Does the new layer of wax last longer if old wax is stripped off first?

Another factor to consider is the type of wax you are using. Those with stronger cleaning content such as those label as cleaner wax wouldnt matter as much since you will be cleaning and protecting at the same time.

SEMA 2016 Video: Griot's Garage Polisher, Pads and Products

Finally a 3 inch pad with the BOSS design- center hole and tapered edge. Simple yet practical. A 5mm-7mm foam interface imo for the microfiber will be a better balance between power and maneuvering around curves for DA. Thinner foam layer also reduces foam stress from dual action which increases...
