How to use Nanoskin Autoscrub Pads to mechanically decontaminate your car's paint

Well, I picked up the Nanoskin 6" Medium pad and a bottle of Nano Glide and went to work on my dad's charcoal gray 2010 Ford Ranger (see my other post in this thread). I washed the truck with my handy dandy boar's hair brush and you could really hear the SWISH-SWISH-SWISH with every pass of...

How to use Nanoskin Autoscrub Pads to mechanically decontaminate your car's paint

Man! I just discovered the clay bar and have impressed my friends and relatives whose cars I have decontaminated/polished/waxed in recent months. Today, while washing my dad's 2010 Ranger, I can hear the squeegee go "sshhhhhhh" as it glid across the glass and I saw what appeared to be dirt or...

Tupe up tips needed: 1996 Mercury Marquis 4.6l

Sounds like the trailer towing package. Glad the plug swap alone seems to have worked out for you. How has it been running for the past month? Like another poster mentioned, cleaning the EGR setup might help with your driveability, too. I'm not a technician and can't tell you exactly...

Review: Montana 10" Boars Hair Brush - Does It Scratch?

I bought the boar's hair brush based almost solely on SY's review. I've used it on several cars, including my low mileage 2011 GS350. I know the GS has had some swirl marks/holograms because of some dealership polishing, so I can't say the boar's hair caused any of the marring I see on its...

hernandez.art13, Yeah, I know....no sealant/wax/anything.... Why? 1) i ran out of time that day 2) Since it was my fledgling attempt, I figured I'd be doing the job again....and doing it "more right" the next time. :) Thanks!

    NOOB few ?s

Welcome from another detailing newbie with a Mustang, too. :) This all started with a Google search on removing swirl marks from my Lexus GS350 (a dealership body shop 'applied' them to my whole car after a quarter panel accident repair) and watching a bunch of Mike Phillips videos! We even...

Swanicyouth, Spot on, man! It didn't happen to me with the Mustang, and I only used 1 orange pad and 1 white pad for the whole hood/roof/trunk job (I know, I know...shame shame), but it did get me on my 2nd job. After the Mustang, I tackled the Honda Odyssey and rotated between 2 orange...

Well, I know some time has passed, but I did some work on the 'stang a while ago and I wanted to post some pics. I used the GG on speed 5 for compounding and 4 or 5 for the polishing. I used the LC CCS Orange pad with Meguiars M105 and the LC CCS White pad with M205 for polishing. I didn't...

It's late and my eyes are tired, but yes, I believe that's what my Mustang's clear coat looks like (only in Titanium....silverish...and not black). Wow! That looks great!

Below is a picture....not of my car, buy of the type of fading the clear coat on my Mustang is starting to show (this is from a Mike Philips thread on...drum roll...clear coat failure). That thread doesn't give me much hope, but we'll see. :)

To clarify, the "whitening" of the clearcoat I describe isn't peeling clearcoat. I'm pretty sure I know how that looks. It's just hazy when viewed from certain angles. Otherwise, the car looks ok from 10 feet away. :)

Well, after you mentioned Kevin Brown I *did* do a little research. :) Man, I saw a few of Mike Philip's videos showing how to make section passes with the DA polisher and thought, "I can do that." :) Thus started my adventure on AGO. The more I read the forums, though, the more...
