I'm back for an update! I really went at it with the Meg's Ultimate compound and a DA. I think I got it to as good as it will ever be without some sort of touch-up solution. Appreciate everyone's advice--it got me back to a pretty tolerable defect that I can live with. Any recommendation on a...

Update: Received my Griot's polisher, along with white and orange Hex Logic pads. Using the Meg's UC, I went over the area at about a 6 speed, which really helped the situation. But, as you'll see in the pictures, theres still one scratch that won't budge, along with some rough paint abrasions...

Nice. I went at it with the microfiber towel and UC for a bit. I have a polisher and a couple hex logic pads (white and orange) arriving tomorrow--I think it needs just a little extra cut to get it fixed up.

Thanks, that helped quite a bit. I went out with the ultimate compound and a microfiber pad, but it was a finishing pad--not much heft. It did make some good progress. Think a DA polisher would help finish it off? I need one anyway. If so, which pad should I get? And with the ultimate compound...

BTW, that almond color may be from the garage door itself, so maybe that's a good sign?

Garage door caught just out of range of the back-up camera, left a pretty good scratch. Couldn't be more bummed out right now. Is there any hope of repairing this myself with a DA, or do I need to bring it in to be repainted? If I can repair it myself, what should I get? I haven't purchased a DA...

Hello Everyone! I'm researching how to prep my Silver BMW 340i DD for spring. It's gone through a couple harsh upper-midwest winters, and while it has no obvious damage, it's never seen a polisher and there's some very minor micro-scratches appearing. It's always been sealed with Menzerna Power...

Washed the car this morning with Duragloss, then followed up with Aquawax as a drying aid. To finish it off, I used Pinnacle Souveran paste wax for the first time--wow. That stuff is absolutely amazing, even on a silver vehicle it gives such a nice shine. And, it's so incredibly easy to hand...

I love using Aquawax as a drying aid--towels glide better and it leaves a great shine. I picked up Pinnacle Soveran during this weekend's great sale. Can I dry my vehicle with Aquawax, then apply the Souveran paste wax? If so, do I need to allow a period of time between the Aquawax and paste...
