Your experiences are quite different then mine.
I just finished doing a Ford F150 (fiberglass topper and all). I found using the gold finger foam pads to be great to use. 2-3 spritzes per panel (panel being a door etc..) is all it took. I quickly spread the product over the entire area using...
Can't speak for Duragloss, but DP coating has easily lasted me through one of the harshest Minnesota Winters in recent memory and it appears to still be working judging by the beading during washings. The slickness is gone, but still protecting.
AS with anything else, proper prep before...
You got that right. So fast it sometimes it can be difficult to see where you left off between sprays.
Probably the biggest thing to get used to is the tendency to use too much as it's easy to be fooled into thinking there is nothing left on the applicator.
Probably not a bad Idea to do two...
Klasse act is correct. No real need to strip anything. For myself, I will probably apply another coat in a few months. I'll clay first, then go over the entire vehicle with their Prep Polish as I did originally and then apply the coating.
Thanks for the update. Nice review. Looks like a winner of a product.
Judging from your pics after you cleaned the tires it appears it still gave a nice matte finish, kinda like a new tire look. Personally, I hate glossy tire dressings (wet look) and much prefer a nice dark black matte finish...
Update***
Initial application was done September of 2013. I used the paint, glass and wheel coating. In Minnesota and most of the upper Midwest for that matter, this has been the harshest winter in 30 years. So cold has it been that washing even in tunnel washes have to be timed with a brief...

Simple answer is yes. According to what I've read from mike and Nick, this coating or any coating has much more durability than a sealant.
I've had mine on now for a month and in that time the slickness has diminished some, but it still beads water like it was done yesterday. The glass coating...
Just did mine.
- wash
- clay
- Meguiars Ultimate compound using a DA with orange LC pad. 5-6 Passes with moderate pressure on speed 5
- IPA wipe down.
- DP Glass coating.
Very smooth and no specs visible in sunlight. This of course is a fairly new vehicle.
If you do a thorough job in the prep work, it adds a quite a bit of gloss and very slick.
I just used it for the first time last Friday and Saturday on two vehicles. One was my 2013 F-150 with a fiberglass topper. This was my first attempt with a WOWA type product and this one is a little...
