Anyone with a paint gauge in Houston want to take a few readings for me? I am going to prep my brothers Lotus Elise to sell and was going to try some paint correction on it. The car is by Westheimer and BW8.
Any tips for working on a Lotus? it is a 2005. Is the paint difficult? Soft...
Man I miss going to SEMA. Used to own a race shop and went every year. I took my wife the first year. That was a mistake! I was in paradise and she was hating life... Next year I took a few of my mechanics... HELL OF A LOT MORE FUN!!!
PS, if you have any more passes, I would be happy to...
OK, looks like I am going to South Beach Auto Spa! I'll give them a call and see if I can set an appointment this week.
I guess all the guys in Houston flew to New York to occupy wallstreet. That is a good way to spend your time...
Doesn't have to be today. I could really use someone to polish my hood. It is stripped and unprotected right now. I can take it to a shop over in midtown close to where I work, but I would rather not.

Congrats! This is awesome! Shop looks great as well.
This is why I love America. No matter who you are, what you do in life, a little bit of dedication, hard work and effort and you can succeed beyond your wildest dreams.
I think you need to go give a motivational speech to the occupy...
I am just looking to make mine and every other new guys life easier on this one. It seems that there are a bunch of different combos that work well with different manufacturers paints/clear coats. Wouldn't it be great if we could compile a list of these, kinda like the list of rubbing...
I was just wondering if there were any videos out there of the more difficult areas of correcting paint on a car. All the videos have a big square right in the middle of a flat panel. It seems that this is the easiest part of the job. What I would like to see are some videos of the more...
I have the backing pad that came with it, the washer installed, the counter weight that came with it, and I am using a 5.5" CCS orange pad with Menzerna's SIP. Nothing out of the ordinary....I don't think.... Speed is 5. I marked the backing plate like I read to do so I could easily tell when...
The washer is in place. There is also no wear marks on the back of the backing plate at all. There is no signs of damage from the back side. This is not the issue.
