Nice numbers. My old LS1 SS made 405 at the wheels and was lots of fun to drive.

I typically pick up M205 from Advance Auto using coupon codes online. Polishing pads I generally get from Autogeek.

For future reference, Mequiar's M205 with an orange pad is a great one-step for G8 paint.

Wire wheel/brush the wheels to remove the rust, then prime and paint. As long as the wheels aren't significantly pitted, bubbled, or otherwise damaged by the rust, you should be fine. By painting you prevent oxygen and moisture from reaching the metal and restarting the oxidation process. Note...

Is the name of the paint actually "Metallica" silver (or is it just "metallic silver")? I would imagine the band Metallica would take issue with Subaru using their name as a paint color...

Being near the upper limit of that spectrum, I find that products that appeal to me are marketed significantly differently than those that appeal to the lower end of the scale. ;)

Really unfortunate. Hopefully the damaged cars can be salvaged.

I understand that when there is a need, someone is going to step in to fill that need. But it's "painful" to think of all those cars that are being subjected to dirty towels, and the inevitable damage to the paint, over and over again.
