    Undoing Body Shop Swirlathon

Great 50/50 shot! What is really amazing is that you also used a rotary and yet got better results than the dealership. Great work!

    Which pad should I use?

You are not wrong at using the red pad. Since you are not correcting the paint and just applying wax, it should be no problem. If my memory serves me right, the gray pad doesn't cut so it is just another choice for people.

Lexus ES350, as they say "You can't fix stupid!"

Great story! I definitely applaud your patience with your friend. I would be raving mad if someone was nagging at me while I was detailing my car. Great turnaround on the Lexus!

    Polish/pad dilemma

Yes, exactly. This topic was confusing for me at first but then I saw this video from AMMO NYC which really helped alot. Take a look for your self: Paint Correction on 1958 Porsche Speedster - DRIVE CLEAN - YouTube The pad and product combination part of the video starts around the 7 minute...

How can I tell when to add more product to foam pad?

One point of advice which I learned the hard way with my rotary. After you are done compounding, clean your pad before you apply more product. With M105 if i didn't clean the pad, the product would gum up on the panel and it would be a PITA to take off. If you clean the pad and often, you...

1999 Trans Am Extreme Makeover - Testing M101 Foam Cut Compound

Re: M101 Foam Cut Compound - 1999 Trans Am Extreme Makeover at Autogeek M101 is definitely stronger than M105 since it was specifically made for European hard paints. Since M101 is a compound, it is highly recommended that you follow up with M205 polish to get the full depth and gloss.
