Thank you, guys. I was scared to put an abhrasive on the new paint, but now rereading my post and reading your comments I see that I never really used a cut. The paint looks better than the dealership chaos I inherited already, but the minor swirls make me go insane for the time I spent on it.
Hey everyone!
I am new to car care detailing and only a weekend warrior doing it for myself and my wife's vehicle, so I am looking for an education because my technique or process is flawed. I have a brand new 2016 Silverado 1500 black and followed Mike's instructional video on Wolfgang...
Chevy made the Midnight Edition for Silverados and charge $1,050-$3,625. I purchased a Silverado being a non-Midnight Edition. For less than $600 I can make my Silverado into the Midnight myself, so that is the motivation.
I just got the truck from the carwash and the green glow is almost gone...
I switched the GM gold bow ties to black bow ties, removed the Silverado emblems and replaced with GM OEM Z71 emblems and then removed the stickers. It's my truck and what I want to do to it.
Thank you for the professional opinions everyone. I lived and learned from my mistake...
The paint is GM OEM Oynx Black. I used the wheel because I thought it was the "proper" technique. I started with the tailgate GM gold emblem and the wheel did its job there and then went to the bed side Z71...
That what my thought was. I feel like crap over it. It's a brand new truck...
I will check out the 105. I have a feeling it's clear coat injury only. In the shade or dark you can't see it.
Removed badges and stickers last night. Badging is perfect. Stickers left a green glow. Take a look. How do I correct it?
i used a heat gun, 3M Eraser Wheel at 2,200 RPMs and then adhesive removal and wiped clean.
