    Solvent for car paint

Does anyone here know what the solvent for most common car paints is? I need to repair a small scratch and want to know what I can use to clean up tools and brushes afterwards. Thanks, Mike PS - I have a Hyundai and do have the manufacturers touch-up paint.

    Small paint scratch

The guy in the video uses clear coat mixed in with the paint. I have the manufactures touch-up paint, but where can I get clear coat?

    Small paint scratch

Re: Small paint scratch - now with pics Here are the pics requested. The top one is a closeup (the real size of the scratch is about 3/4'). The bottom photo is further away for perspective. On closer inspection I found out it IS indeed an indent and not raised as I first thought. I think I was...

    Best drying clothes after washing

I bough a bunch of micro fiber clothes online to use for wasting and drying. They are great for washing but suck for drying. What do you guys suggest for drying? The cloths I have are small and seem to just move the water around instead of absorb it. Thanks, Mike

    Small paint scratch

I got a 3/4 inch, very thin scratch in my car door and want to take care of it myself. It does not go all the way to the metal, but gray primer is certainly visible. The weird thing is that it feels raised, not indented. So my question is, should I smooth it out before carefully applying...

Claying rocks!!!! Beware of protective film though

OMG!!!! I clayed my car today for the first time and LOVED IT! It's really easy and the results made me insanely happy! Afterwards, I used Black Fire Crystal Seal and the the car looks better than when I bought it, 8 weeks ago! I'm hooked. If you've never done it, do it! It's actually fun to do...

    Claying and waxing

Re: Claying and waxing - revisited I guess my other question is, after claying and sealing (with BFCS in my case), regular road grime and contaminants will still gather on the car's surface right? Do you basically just have to live with that until the next time you clay and seal? Is there...

    Claying and waxing

I recently wanted to use some paint sealant, Blackfire Crystal Seal, but realized after washing that I would have to clay the paint to remove all contaminants. After doing that should I polish and then apply wax or can I polish and just use the paint sealant? Also, after doing all this isn't...

Difference between paint coatings and sealants

I was recently told Liquid Glass is a sealant, but Blackfire Crystal Seal and Wolfgang Deep Gloss Liquid Seal are coatings. What's the difference? I'm confused. What I want is somthing that is easy to use, will protect my paint, give a good shine and NOT get caught in the edges of the hood...

    Clear paint sealants

I definitely do not want to use Liquid Glass (wasted my money there) because it sounds like a drag to get out of the edges of the hood bra and door edging. Are there any paint "sealants" that go on clear and won't muck up the edges of 3M PPF? Thanks, Mike

    Clear paint sealants

HMMM, most of those other products mentioned about say they are sealants as well. This is really confusing. All I want is something to protect my paint and make my car look really shiny! :-) So are Optimum Opti-Seal, Ultima Pain Guard Plus, Blackfire Crystal Seal, Wolfgang Deep Gloss Liquid...

    Clear paint sealants

But I have heard that coatings like Liquid Glass, which dries like a haze and needs to be buffed (just like a wax) will leave that residue on the edges and it is a drag to try to remove. Is that not true? Mike

    Clear paint sealants

I just had 3M PPF put on my hood and door edges. I am kind put off by what I read about potential wax buildup on the edges of the film, so I am wondering if there are any clear paint sealants that would make that issue nonexistent! I have read you can tape the edges of the film but that means...
