Do you think the white powder is the degreaser baked on, or discoloration??

I am a new detailer and a new poster. The other day I degreased my engine with Super Clean then power rinsed it. Got most of the engine clean but my hoses have a white powder like film on it.... What did I do wrong, and how do I fix it? Feed back please
