Car washes keep leaving some type of residue?

The main reason I got the reset, was because I applied a coating, and figured it was a good way to renew it during washes. I guess it turns out there might be more finesse to it, if the soap dilution is in fact the issue here. I'm more than open to soap suggestions as I likely won't be...

Car washes keep leaving some type of residue?

I never thought of possibly using too much Reset, I'll definitely have to try using a little less next time. Car was coated with PBL diamond paint coating. However, I've got a strange feeling that it has all but worn off as I don't really notice much if any beading nowadays, even after using Reset.

CarPro Perl leaving gunk on tires

I guess I'll buy some Tuff Shine tire cleaner and use a brush instead of an old wash mitt, then apply the Perl more diluted at 1:1 and give it another go. If that doesn't work, that stuff is never touching my tires again. Maybe I'll save it for some engine trim and weather stripping/rubber if...

CarPro Perl leaving gunk on tires

I purchased some CarPro Perl because it claimed pretty good durability and as I typically don't like dressing tires as I always have to jack the car up so as to apply a coat evenly around the whole tire, otherwise the uneven application bothers me. Applied a layer of the Perl (undiluted) with a...

Car washes keep leaving some type of residue?

Car in question: 2014 Subaru WRX STi So, I've been trying to figure out what a particular residue is left on my paint after washing my car. After washing, in daylight, the car looks fantastic. I've had some possible "industrial fallout/superficial brake rust?" that I've been trying to solve on...

Best compound/polish combo before CQuartz UK?

Trying to plan ahead for this spring/summer. I have some CQuartz UK I want to apply to my 2014 black Subaru STi. I have Wolfgang Uber, TSR, Finishing Glaze. Not sure how fond I was of the Uber desite hearing so many rave reviews; seemed to dust more than I expected when I used it last year prior...

Is my wash process still causing swirls?

Yeah, I'm wondering if the PBL coating is really just that soft. I use only the 1 Incredimitt for the paint, separate MF chenille mitt for the wheels (recently upgraded to wheel woolies to make it easier). Also my Incredimitt doesn't go anywhere near inside rocker panels or inside wheel wells...

Is my wash process still causing swirls?

Reapplying the coating would not reduce or eliminate the swirls unfortunately. The swirls would need to be polished away.

Is my wash process still causing swirls?

I was also beginning to wonder if the coating itself is was is easily marred, much so more than the clear coat. However, I thought the general consensus on coatings were that they are generally harder than factory clear coat? Maybe I'm wrong to assume that, or only certain coatings? Separate...

Is my wash process still causing swirls?

To make a long story short, I coated (PBL Paint Coating) my black Subaru back in June after polishing. For a couple wash cycles, the car was rinsed with a hose, prior to a traditional 2 bucket method wash with CG Wash/Clear, and always blown dry with an electric leaf blower. Few weeks later I...

How do you clean dried compound/polish from hard to reach places?

No no, sorry. I should have described the awful photo a little better. The "white" stuff you see in the crevice directly to the left of the fog light is the dried up crud. The rest is rain, no scratches on my bumper.

How do you clean dried compound/polish from hard to reach places?

Sorry, not the best, I know. It's the best I could do in a moment's notice while it's thunder-storming outside. Unfortunately, I don't have the luxury of access to a steamer. Guess I'll have to give APC and some brushes a go. Otherwise, guess it's there for good.

How do you clean dried compound/polish from hard to reach places?

Is there anything that will help to physically dissolve the dried compound/polish in the (likely) case even a brush won't be able to agitate the stuff enough to remove?

How do you clean dried compound/polish from hard to reach places?

I've got a few places on my front bumper where it didn't seem appropriate to tape up when I was compounding/polishing. As a result I have a few spots that have dried up residue that I cannot seem to get rid of with regular washes. I've bought a few boars hair detail brushes I'm gonna try with...

    Claying new car

Yes, just because you Iron-X you still need to clay. However, always Iron-X before claying. And yes, on a first detail, it would be a good idea to do both.
