    Need some advice please.

Sparkie, couple questions about the truck Do you hear any clunking when you hit a bump in the road? Was there any odd wear pattern in the front tires? The easiest way to check for ball joint wear is to get the front end or the whole truck in the air (lift is preferable) and see if there...

    Drying Mothers polishing ball

That's what I've done in the past. The one time I did not run it on the drill to dry, it sat on my counter in the house for 4 days before the center was dry. Dunno on the drier...I have seen others say it shortens the life of the foam by making it a bit more brittle.

    Oil Change Pump

Bought a similar model when I was around 14-15 years old Though it does pump oil out, I found that it often didn't get ALL the oil from the crankcase. You will still have the filter with 1/2 qt. or more oil in it to remove. If the engine is too warm, you can actually melt the guide tube...

    Grillers come in

The Brinkmann water smoker I own does a great job and I have no trouble maintaining stable temps. It does not have the air vents that Weber offers, but other adjustments are easy enough to compensate. I've worked larger units and know how fickle they can be, so the adjustments are no biggie to...

    Grillers come in

Shoot, can't afford ya' this year ! This past fall my brother had a party with around 75 people in attendance. He used a gas grill and I my smoker to cook for them all. What a challenge, but what fun! I could see it being a big pain to do for a living, but at times like that it doesn't get...

    Grillers come in

Brinkmann makes a cylindrical model called the Gourmet Charcoal Smoker. They also have identical styled ones powered by propane or electricity. For $50, they're a great way to start and usually cook more than enough until you have more than 8-10 people eating. They are a water smoker, unlike the...

    Grillers come in

For charcoal grilling, it's hard to beat a Weber kettle. They cook well, the large has a good capacity, and they are sturdy and durable. Last season they were $79 around here. The Char-Grill model you show uses a farily large amount of fuel for only two people, but I believe it has a bit...

I found the car I want to get!

The advice given here about buying is been solid. You're being financially prudent by admitting you don't want to spend so much on the Mustang's fuel and insurance. Keep in mind that trade-in value on a Mustang won't be as good this time of year because it's a tough sell from the dealership's...

    I found what I want for X-Mas!

You have a great advantage being in a warmer climate. Staying mobile does help keep expenses lower. For me, a shop was the answer since I live in northern Indiana. Temperatures could be as low as 0F with snow and ice around: time to go indoors. Also, my shop was used for more than just...

Random Thoughts - FWD v.s RWD

The answer is two-fold: it is a combination of weight distribution and which wheels control the vehicle motion. Most front wheel drive cars have their engine mounted transversely. Picture a solid line running from one front wheel to the other. The engine is then turned sideways (the long...

XMT Finishing Glaze and OPT Poli-Seal

The XMT Glaze says that it can stand alone, due to carnauba content. I understand the theory on glazes, but this one seems different than the traditional product I'm familiar with using.

XMT Finishing Glaze and OPT Poli-Seal

After reading some of the threads and product description in the store, I'm curious about Pinnacle XMT Carnauba Finishing Glaze. It has some carnauba and also cleaners, right? It's non-abrasive, correct? I wouldn't use this product to work out minor spiderwebbing, would I? Any examples of...

Random Thoughts - FWD v.s RWD

Nothing I've ever driven is "good" on ice. Zamboni, maybe, but can't say I've driven one Another RWD develpment change is better weight ratios. The cars I remember from the 60s and 70s had lots of torque, were long, and had light rear ends. Todays RWD is generally more balanced with respect...

    Legal Question

It seems that whomever made these decisions must feel that these people were detrimental to the business and possibly guilty of major wrongdoing. If this is the case, that is all the more reason to remove them and quickly.
