How long has the paint cured for, before sanding and buffing? May not have let it cure for long enough? Sorry, saw 2weeks. It may need to sit for longer before you get into sanding. DMac

So, the plumbing just wets the pad and the grit guard "scrubs" it? - Yes The plumbings function is to simply wet the pad when you push downward. You should only have to push down a time or two to get the pad "Damp". The more water, the longer the dry time.
