How long has the paint cured for, before sanding and buffing? May not have let it cure for long enough?

So, the plumbing just wets the pad and the grit guard "scrubs" it? - Yes
The plumbings function is to simply wet the pad when you push downward. You should only have to push down a time or two to get the pad "Damp". The more water, the longer the dry time.
For those wanting to change the forum color to help with your eyes, and you are using Chrome, you can add an extension for that until the option is enabled by the forum itself.
