    PC 7336SP - Very Unimpressed

No offense- but he DOESN'T know how to use one if he's buffing edges and small areas like the underside of a trunk lid. And this is not a shot at the guy- lord knows I slung pieces across the room when it caught on an edge, and I've swirled up a couple panels before I finally "got it". I...

    PC 7336SP - Very Unimpressed

Jason- agree with all your points. I personally recommend a DeWalt unit over the other ones, weight not withstanding. If you PM me, I will give you a link to a setup for the DeWalt that will make you cream your pants.

Am I using my PC correctly (vid) 56k ouch!

Yeah, it is tiny "swirls" in the paint. I don't mean it to be a negative comment- the PC works great for 90% of this forum. So, it is successful at what it does for the most part- IF you have the time and patience to swap out compounds and polishes. I am very experienced with a rotary- I cut...

Am I using my PC correctly (vid) 56k ouch!

Well, count me in as someone not overly impressed with the PC buffing system. I'm glad it works for a lot of you guys, but its painfuly slow and to get concours results you need 2 to 3 different polishes and steps to get a desired result. It has turned out to be an overpriced orbital wax...

    Why not 3M's stuff?

No, the 3M stuff broke down quicker even using the PC.

    Why not 3M's stuff?

Sure, that could be fun. I can tell you right off the bat that the Pinnacle products have more of an "oil" or "carrying liquid" than the 3M products when buffing. In other words, the 3M products work into the surface very quick, and rapidly break down leaving the finished surface behind...

    Dents

Nah- don't feel dumb. You couldn't have possibly known, and really-under the right circumstances, that method may work. Who knows?

    Dents

Wow- thats CHEAP. Around here, all we have is the Dent Wizard, and he charges a min. of 180.00 to come out for 1 dent. ONE.

Help me with PC & Black Saleen !!

Think its a great choice. Go with the XMT 1 and see what you get. I bet it takes out the little hairline scratches to your satifaction.

    Why not 3M's stuff?

You aren't going to beat 3M products, period. As someone else said though- they are made for professionals, and each product is very targeted to what job needs to be done. I use them in my shop almost exclusively, but since I bought a PC, I decided to try some Pinnacle stuff to see how it...

Help me with PC & Black Saleen !!

I think you are worrying too much. I used every pad I had, and every compound I had, and didn't faze any scratches. The PC doesn't have enough power, or generate enough heat to do any damage. The worst case is you may put some little swirls in the paint. But, a finer abrasive will take those...

Help me with PC & Black Saleen !!

Well- I wouldn't worry too much over using 3000 grit. I would try and find out what "orbit" your sander has. I use Dynabrade exclusively, and I have one that has a 3/32 orbit (for 3000 grit) and another that has 3/16 orbit (for 1500 film finishing) and another that uses 3/8 orbit (for 800 film...

Help me with PC & Black Saleen !!

Hey everyone- just recieved my PC buffer and pads. I am having trouble with my new black Saleen. First off, I want to point out I am a custom painter by trade- I am used to cutting, buffing and working with paint. I can do it with my eyes closed. HOWEVER, this new PC has me a little baffled...

    Dents

Thats because you didn't have the surface hot enough, and the dry ice isn't "cold" enough right out of the gate. Basically, you are shrinking the metal, which causes the dent to pop out. I use a torch and a cold rag. Basically impossible to do on a painted panel without damage, and any kind...

    baked on bugs?

Want a simple method to keep bugs off the front of your car? Just take a little WD-40 and mist over a CLEAN front end, then lightly wipe down with a dry cloth. When you return from your trip, or you are done driving for the week, simply spray a little Simple Green where the WD was to remove...
