Dents

Well I tried the dry ice thing. As you can tell from my lack of enthusiasm, this did not work for me. I heated the dent with my 1000 watt halogen light for a couple mins. To the touch it was pretty hot, enough for me to take my hand away. Then I applied the dry ice until it was frosty. Took a couple of minutes and then I let it dry on its own. No difference. :(

Thats because you didn't have the surface hot enough, and the dry ice isn't "cold" enough right out of the gate.

Basically, you are shrinking the metal, which causes the dent to pop out.

I use a torch and a cold rag. Basically impossible to do on a painted panel without damage, and any kind of dent. You might- *might* be able to raise a small ripple out of the surface using the method you tried, but its doubtful.

LOL, definitely then my technique is flawed. I basically gave up and I felt dumb for believing it!

Hey, that reminds me, I tried the Dent King and it works pretty good. You have to use lots of the glue they send you but it comes off easy. You really have to look hard to see where the dings were. And I was about to sell my car. Not now.

I had a Dent Buster guy take out 3 dings on my wifes CRV. One was really bad, and over an angle in the panel. He got it and the other two out to the point where I could not for the life of me find them. $50. Money well spent. A week later she had yet another ding. She works in a shopping mall, and unfortunatly, people are just so thoughtless these days. Very frustrating and diasappointing.

Wow- thats CHEAP.

Around here, all we have is the Dent Wizard, and he charges a min. of 180.00 to come out for 1 dent. ONE.

Nah- don't feel dumb. You couldn't have possibly known, and really-under the right circumstances, that method may work. Who knows?

I work at a Honda Dealership and the Dent Buster guy was making some $$$ on the side, which is why I only had to pay what I did.
