Well there's a silver dollar sized spot of failed CC and a 6"X8" patch around it that's just soaking up the polish. It's hard enough getting 105 off but this is ridiculous! I keep wiping and still there's a white film streaked all over when the QD dries. It takes like six times to get it...
Well let me tell you guys I finally found a good use for that Ebay clay I bought two years ago. I don't know what half the $hit on that roof was but between the corner of plastic razor blade and the heavy yellow clay I got "most" of the crud off.
I'm not too concerned with how it finishes...
I've got a really badly oxidized roof to do on my new to me SUV and have both products to use with a yellow pad. They're the strongest I have so I'm wondering which one is more effective?
I have a bottle of what's called Final Finish with no number designation - it's an orange and blue label - and on the back it says 1500-2000. I can not find this polish anywhere online and there's nothing like it on any menzerna chart that I've ever seen.
This company is infuriating...
I've been using Megs 105 for the first time these past couple days and it's a huge PITA to get off. I have to use something to help remove it or it wont budge. I tried optimum QD first but it smeared it too much and then required too much buffing to get rid of itself. So I've been using about...
Actually if the air is 50 degrees the metal body has to be 50 degrees. It's a common misconception that metal is colder. It feels colder to the touch based on the differences between how fast metal draws heat away from your skin and how fast air pulls it away, which is much slower.
Thanks...
I've been having some problems getting a hood shined up and I was thinking about how cold it's been in the garage lately and how maybe that's having an effect. Normally I work in the spring/summer but I just got a new to me car that's pretty badly oxidized. The garage temps have been in the...
Oh well I have no 101 and the yellow pad won't be here till Wednesday at the earliest. I've gone over the really bad strip down the center of the hood four times now with both types of orange pad (CCM, Hydro) and it's a lot better but still "fuzzy".
(It's definitely CC paint)
I...
Hey guys. It's definitely clear coat. I have gotten better results with 105 and an orange hydro pad and two ful applications. It is getting shiny, but the worst parts still look kind of dull. Almost like orange peel but much smaller "bumps". Like it's no longer smooth although it feels...
I'm doing a 97 land cruiser in fairly good condition I guess, lots of swirls, but the hood is a whole other story. It almost looks like flat paint thats extremely dull, especially over the straight six engine where I guess heat contributed to the problem. Like a two foot wide stripe down the...
Which towels? Waxing towels? Yes. Polishing towels? Yup. I think the only ones you can skip a wash on would be a drying towel, but I still wash mine 98% of the time just to be sure it didn't pick up any grit.
I bought a megs detailing brush made just for this in an auto store. It's brown and has three different kinds of stiff bristles on it. It's VERY effective. No matter where the wax has been stuck one of the bristles has gotten it out easily. Especially those little stubby ones.
Here it is:
