    Desert detailing

I live in Phoenix, so I feel your pain, but overall, I can't say it's the worst thing. I do go through windshields often, due to the sand-caused pitting that occurs, and the heat just kills me during summer, but most of the time, I can pull the car in the garage immediately after washing in...

Brand New 2017 Chevy 1500 High Country (HOLY SWIRL BATMAN)

You did some excellent work there, and it looks great. Shame on the dealer, although this seems to be the norm, almost regardless of where you go. The Nissan dealer where I bought my Altima in 2014 seems to be a potential exception, as the car did not have any swirls in it when we bought, but...

    Wax or sealant for daughter

What about CarPro Reload? As spray sealants go, I'd say it's right up there.

    Clay a ceramic coating?

I would expect that since the CQuartz has only been on about a year, and you've been using Reload, that your finish would be pretty much swirl-free. If this is the case, what use would a polish job be? Clay maybe, but only if a baggie test reveals contamination. Otherwise, just keep topping...

    What are you buying?

I actually ordered during the flash sale a couple days ago - 25% off and free shipping - and I bought the following: McKee's 37 Hydro Blue SiO2 Coat - 16 oz. Gtechniq G4 Glass Nano Polish - 100 ml. Gtechniq G1 Clear Vision - 15 ml. HD Speed - 16 oz. Lexol spray leather conditioner - 16.9 oz...

    Paste wax problem

Two words: Butter knife It's what I use to spread wax onto my applicators. Insures that no potential contamination will make its way back into the wax tub.

how does one protect this spot of the car?

I don't know if this would be considered an 'acceptable' solution to all, but it seems to me that spraying a few coats of clear Plasti-Dip or Armor-All's "Custom Shield" over a door sill in good condition, or spraying a few coats of black Plasti-Dip over a worn-out door sill might do the trick...

    What are you listening to...?

Technically, it's 4 songs, but they have it assembled into a sort of.. "suite". Always blows me away: Two simply amazing singers backed by a powerhouse band. My favorite part starts at 3:00. Simone Simons is hauntingly good in this.

Well, it's not my car, but I saw this gorgeous beast while getting lunch today at work: .. one can always dream, right?

We've lost a legend - Stephen Hawking dead at 76

Indeed.. Hawking even commented on this: "Without imperfection, you or I would not exist"

We've lost a legend - Stephen Hawking dead at 76

I really don't want to get drawn into a religious discussion here, especially on a board that, IMHO, has always been about sharing knowledge and helping others... so I'll just say this: I've always held to the belief that Christianity is about loving others, and that God and Jesus were, first...

Lent my buddy some of my collinite

LOL. That's one of the many reasons I bought this three pack of Meguiars dispensing bottles a while back. Mainly, I bought them because they're good quality and work great to portion product from larger bottles, but in the case of Collinite 845, the bottle it comes in does not have any way of...

We've lost a legend - Stephen Hawking dead at 76

Just found this out a few minutes ago. I originally went to college for Nuclear Engineering, and have always been extremely interested in astrophysics and cosmology, so this is definitely hitting me pretty hard. Rest in Peace, you brilliant man. BBC Article

Does anybody own the SPX200E pressure washer?

Just a heads-up.. and I'm sure you'll probably hear this from the moderators.. but posting links to commerce sites outside of AutoGeek is a big no-no on these forums. That would include Amazon, AFAIK. FWIW - I've got an SPX3000.. I've found it to be more than adequate. Can't speak to the...
