Fiberglass Oxidation Removal is making me nuts..Pics

I think someone else mentioned it as well. If it's really bad then wet sanding might be your best bet. I would start at 1500 grit on a small area. Follow up with a good wax then a sealer with Teflon.

    Micro fiber towels leave scratches

I got the 70/30 MF towels yesterday and they did make a difference. Also I believe I wasn't working the compounds in enough so they broke down enough not to leave so much of an abrasive film. Still a few minor scathes but I can live with them.

I should also mention that the bike was painted black with a PPG clear coat. The black shows every imperfection it seems.

    Micro fiber towels leave scratches

the towels are the Cobra 80/20 towels that come with the CCS pad kits. I wash them with the Cobra Quick Cleanse powder and hang them to dry in the laundry room. I usually wash by hand. I washed them this eve in the washing machine with extra rinse cycle. I'll try again tomorrow and let you...

    Micro fiber towels leave scratches

I'm in the process of posishing a new paint job on my motorcycle. I color sanded to 2500 grit. Followed with orange CCS pad with Meguires Med Cut then white pad and fine cut followed by gray pad and No.9 swirl remover. The parts are coming out good except I noticed after using the No.9 I...

    repair paint removal from edge

I painted my bike and while color sanding the clear coat to remove some slight to moderate orange peel I removed some paint from the edge on a small section. What is the best way to repair without spraying the entire part over? Thanks. Feed back please

will flex DA work for wet sanding?

I need the smaller pads to get in the tight spots on the bike. I looked at the Makita and will probably go with it. I picked up an old car hood that I also painted along with the bike to use as my test piece for the entire restoration process. Thanks for all the info. I'll post some...

will flex DA work for wet sanding?

time is not an issue. My main concerns are the quality of the job and flexibility. I don't commonly wet sand. This is just a one off to restore my bike. In the future I would use it mostly for upkeep and maybe the occasional minor repair/correction. The main thing turning me away from the Flex...

will flex DA work for wet sanding?

I applied two coats of clear. What about the Flex 3403 circular polisher? From what I've read so far it appears I'd be better off getting a nice circular posisher if I'm only going to get one tool. Your thoughts?

will flex DA work for wet sanding?

well I just found out that I can't use the 4" pads on the Flex DA polisher. What a bumer. This is a must as there are a lot of small areas I want to work in to. Looks like I'll be going for the Flex circular polisher. Any feedback on this unit? Would still appreciate some suggestions on...

will flex DA work for wet sanding?

I just painted my 91 Goldwing jet black with a black base coat and followed with a clear coat. I have very slight orange peel. I plan to follow up with some light wet sanding to smooth the surface. Will the flex DA work for polishing out the sanding marks? I was thinking of the PC however...
