Micro fiber towels leave scratches

Asphalt....where can these be purchased? I have had the same experince with micro fiber, leaving light swirl marks....some of those towels I paid allot for.....please advise

its been my experience with softer clearcoats that if you breathe on it wrong it will scratch and marr....

sometimes on my acura, while wiping polish residue or sealant, i can see a swirl or two comming right behind a wipe...pisses me off...make sure you use alot of microfibre clothes per process, i use a minimu of 8 per stage, and wash them with liquid dergent no powder otherwise that will stay in your clothes too and cause marring.....

I own several cars, but one in particular Nissan Maxima..man, talking about a soft clear coat, if you say a wrong word around the car it swirls up.....
 
your going to get swirls no matter what. even when it snows and the snow covers your hood. and then starts to melt and slide off your hood its draging dirt across it . you just cant avoid these things un less you never take your car outa the garage...
 
I got the 70/30 MF towels yesterday and they did make a difference. Also I believe I wasn't working the compounds in enough so they broke down enough not to leave so much of an abrasive film. Still a few minor scathes but I can live with them.

I just ordered about 32 of em (different styles)! If they work on black and not leaving any holograms,fine scratches etc. I'll try em....

Did you get the Ultraplush towels and some of the waffle weaves?

Sure Did !. I called and ordered directly from Ranney on the phone and we talked about which are going to work for different applications. I have read several of your post over the last couple weeks on different topics and I trust your opinions based upon some of the post. I'll let you know what I think of them in a couple weeks they have to take a Plane ride then some Truck rides before I get em..:cheers:
 
Thats the only down fall from where they are coming from. Maybe AG can hook up with Ranney and sell his towel, he sells some of their products. It would be a win, win for everyone. Thanks for the trust in my opinion.:cheers:
 
Even the highest quality microfiber can scratch, this is exactly why I never use quick detailer. I would rather see the car dirty for half a week than induce marring and taint my towels by quick detailing. Also, no matter how careful you are washing & drying, they are inevitable, anyone that tells you otherwise doesnt have a detailers eye.

While wiping off polish, dried polish or polish not worked in all the way can cause marring. Use IPA to keep the towel moist. Fold it over several times and discard the towel when it begins to get product build up.

When drying after a wash, use a spray wax to keep the surface slick. Unless you are 100% sure the towel is 100% clean, you never want to rub a dry towel over the surface of a dry car.

If a towel touches the ground, discard it immediately. If its been used on wheels, tires, interior or engine. Don't use it later on the paint, even after cleaning them. It's best to have different colored towels for different purposes so you know when to use them and where they have been.

Also, a $30 towel doesnt have an infinite lifetime, the towels need to be replaced often. My ongoing collection of mf towels is easily the most expensive of all my detailing products (I love BOGO deals on microfiber).

It just doesnt matter, it seems just looking at the car causes scratches. Thats why even the most careful detailer has to do their daily drivers every 6 months with at least a light polish.
