wheel stain removal - splotchy milk like stains

Hello, I have a 4th gen fbody and I am thinking about picking up a set of C5 thin spokes off a facebook market place seller. They are cheap, likely for this reason.. From my research this is polished aluminum that is clear coated? Looks like someone used a powerful wheel cleaner of some sort...

    cracking paint?

Having the paint fall off was my primary concern. It passes the 3ft distance without issue though! As for whether its single stage or base clear, Im not sure. I have not polished/compounded it due to this reason. But I could see if I get any red rub off to know.

    cracking paint?

Hi guys, its many many years since I was last present on here. I have a 93 firebird formula that was resprayed in 2002-2003. Prior owner garage kept it, I bought it two years ago and it lives outdoors. The paint had defects like this when I got it, but I feel there are more of them now. What...

couldnt afford to repaint, so i decided to replace. I AM SO STOKED!!!!!

Next on the agenda is scratch filling. Going to buy some touch up paint and see if I can fill in the scratches. The one I want to fill the most are some I made when mounting the fender. Thought I was watching all sides carefully but a piece of metal ground into the paint on my doors leaving deep...

couldnt afford to repaint, so i decided to replace. I AM SO STOKED!!!!!

Yep. 8 bolts in all. 5 of which were in the engine bay. One I could see with the door open and the other one I had to pull the bumper off slighty and the final one( and the most annoying) was hidden under the side skirt.

couldnt afford to repaint, so i decided to replace. I AM SO STOKED!!!!!

Hey guys, I just had to share this with you all because you are the only folks I know who will truly appreciate this. So the paint on my fender started to delaminate I about 4 years ago. It only got worse and kept peeling. I eventually decided to try the DIY route in 2012. I bought some rattle...

discount tire crossed threaded a lug nut errghh

Went well, no issues at all. Just referenced a few guides on a Nissan forum. Only challenge I ran into was figuring out which way the pad goes in relation to the wear marker. Both wear markers had fallen off the right side and the left side I didn't pay attention as I didn't know I needed too...

discount tire crossed threaded a lug nut errghh

Got my car back. It was indeed cross thread. They said they use their impact gun full power to break it off. I had no idea, but I guess each stud can be removed individually? He said they hammered out the old stud and put a new one in with a new lug nut. Overall very painless. They had it done...

discount tire crossed threaded a lug nut errghh

It makes sense, and if you watch those guys, they are always moving so quickly. The tech probably fired them one pretending to be a pit crew or something and just jammed the lug nut up to the stud and hammered them on with the impact gun.

discount tire crossed threaded a lug nut errghh

Okay, just got off the phone and they were very nice. I told the manager on duty what happened and the timelines and he gave me the number of a shop I have dealt with before(re-assuring as I know their work) and that whatever they determine the fix is, they will bill discount tire for the work...

discount tire crossed threaded a lug nut errghh

Some of you may remember my previous thread where I asked for advice and purchased new rotors, pads, and brake fluid. Well I finally got the job done today. Did a test drive to make sure all was well. After this I was going to bleed the brakes. I started with the right rear tire and while...

    squeeling rear wheel?

Got my parts today in the mail. I hope 1 liter of fluid is enough, I couldn't find anything specifying total brake fluid capacity. And yes I know I bought dot 4, I did that intentionally. Also picked up a new low profile 3 ton jack at HF. Here it is next to my tired 1-1/4 ton guardian jack...

    squeeling rear wheel?

Alright fellas, I made it official with my order. Ended up getting it all from autoanything as they are throwing coupon codes out left and right and it equaled out to rock auto prices for the most part but with free shipping. Got the centric high carbon rotors blanks (no drilled or slotted)and...

    squeeling rear wheel?

Haha I got a good laugh out of that one:applause::laughing: I experienced a similar moment using a miter saw to cut baseboards. Was trying to be extremely precise and kept hitting the inside edge ruining a perfect cut. Now I have a bundle of 3ft long pieces I need to find a use for.
