Getting good results using SuperClean on tires...

I use superclean for mostly everything lol. Super economical. I use it 10:1 on well maintained tires, 4:1 on slightly worse and strait for the worse of the worse. Cant go wrong.

I use either Megs Super Degreaser or OPC for tires. Megs suds up nicely but leaves my tire brush coated in nasty. Pic below on left is after 3 tires cleaned with Super Degreaser 4:1 and spraying off with pressure washer. Pic on right after cleaning the fourth tire with Optimum Power Clean 3:1 and rinsing with pressure washer.

Same here. I love that stuff. I tried it after watching Scott(Dallas)'s video. It worked just like he showed on some really grungy tires. It is all I use on tires now.

To each his own i guess.. Like mike says find something that works and use it often...for me the best use use for it is drowning spiders... Incredibly efficient

Funny you mention that. I was cleaning a nasty running boards with strait superclean and i didnt see the mosquito sitting there. May or may not have melted him by accident.

Ya... But Scott uses it undilluted and uses half a bottle on a tire. In those conditions, any product with do good work. When I tried using Super Clean diluted 4:1 (like I use Megs super degreaser), it wasn't cleaning well. Had to do 2 or 3 rounds of cleaning to get the tire clean.

Just as a sidenote... do any of you use a foamer to clean tires? I was watching a youtube video yesterday and the guy what using a spray pump foamer (IKG I think was the brand) to foam the cleaning product. It looked really effective. A thick foam coated the whole wheel (mag and tire) and just sat there for about 2 minutes before he started scrubbing. I think that would really make the cleaner much more effective since it's not running off.

I use a foam pump sprayer to apply the tire cleaner I use. The benefit is also that you get a stronger dilution ratio than the prewash foam gets you. First I apply the wheel cleaner on the rim and then foam the tire cleaner on.

Super Clean does have a pH range of 12.5-13.8. Assuming the worse case on the high side that is slightly lower than drain cleaner. I certainly would not want that touching any metal surface of the car. Diluting it 4:1 brings it down to 13.1 which does not make it that much safer. A 10:1 dilution will bring it down to 12.76. 10:1 will make it safer but perhaps not all that effective.

Scott uses it 4:1 for tires not straight. Every tire I’ve come across cleans just fine at 4-5:1 with one pass.

I spent my life in the tire business, I'll stick with McKee's Rubber Cleaner and Rejuvenator, it works great. Spray it on and watch the brown start running off. . APCs and degreasers are not good for tires.

What is McKees Rubber and Rejuvenator based on that makes it good to use on tires?

Funny timing. I was at the dollar store earlier and saw these
I am always looking for the perfect tire cleaner. In my current arsenal I have Meguiars D143, Bleche White, Adams Tire and Rubber Cleaner, LA Awesome and Mothers Back to Black. LA Awesome is the most economical because you can find it in the Dollar Store. They all seem to have the same effectiveness with the edge going to Adams and Mothers. I have not tried Superclean yet but it sounds interesting.

sometimes you can find some useful products there. i was at the 99 cent only store this weekend and found the EO1 zap bug remover and bought a few bottles...

Saw that too. Or was it Eagle 1 version?

it was the eagle one 1 version in the green bottle. i have used it in the past when it was called beetlejuice bug remover and for the price i bought it at, i figured why not. i figured if it was horrible i could waste and use it in the wheel wells. but it actually isn't too shabby, worth the buck it's priced at...

I'm unsure why some here are scared of using something with a 12 or 13 PH level? Almost all household cleaners have a PH level that high, its quite common and quite safe to use. You're not suppose to consume it, but it is safe to clean without problem.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not part of the crowd that’s afraid of using high ph or acidic cleaners, but I’ve had times where I’ve had woodgrain turn a bit foggy white after cleaning it with different cleaners i.e. Megs D101@10:1. So that could be a reason why someone might be cautious about using a high ph cleaner in certain areas.
