@chilly - sorry to hear about your son's dog, but good to hear she's doing better. It's tough to see them go through that (both the son and the dog).
We're on a family road trip (MN - CO - SD - MN loop). Currently staying at an Airbnb just outside Fairplay, CO (<2hrs SW of Denver). Got Mabel to paws (dad joke) for a few seconds for a picture.

I put some extra blankets in their dog houses. Overnight temps have dropping to 3C/37f, but they like sleeping on their other beds which are still undercover but not enclosed. I even tried leaving the back garage door open, they go in for a bit, then go back to the other beds.

Vet visit today, vaccination time, there's been an outbreak of Leptospirosis in my area, dogs can get it from contaminated water and soil, two things they love, playing in puddles and sticking there noses in the dirt. Cost today for both was $399, that includes a booster shot in 2 weeks.

My cat.
And recently we’ve had this new friendly stray cat coming around. He’s actually pretty well mannered so my cat doesn’t mind him hanging around and I give him some food & water too. He appears to be getting quite comfortable in our backyard. Lol.
