If someone calls themself a pro and lets a car leave there shop looking like that, there is no second chance. They need to close up shop. Damn hacks!!

I just got done fixing a similar problem where the owner of the car tried 4 different detail shops before posting on AG and getting in contact with me.

Some of these shops are more concerned with how many cars they can do in one day. Yours was probably scheduled and rushed through to make sure if got done that day.

I wouldnt let them touch it again. Ask for a refund, and if nothing else maybe they can give you half of your money back.

Use that money to buy some products and learn to enjoy proper auto detailing as a new hobby.

I hate seeing companies with good, sharp looking website do this type of work. Often seems the better the website, the worse the work is!

Someone earlier in this thread wanted to know how that hack became successful ? Check "extras" on his website "Clay Service (new clay bar) - Starts $69.99". $70/hour of work. That's how. So a basic exterior wash and clay is about $100, on a small car, and by the looks of his "handy work" I bet they don't spend an hour doing clay bar job, probably only do hood and roof. So he is making $100 for 30-45 minutes right there.

Well, just to be fair, you have to take reviews with a grain of salt. Who knows if that person who posted on that website had an agenda, was a wackjob, or ???

Other websites give that business a much better rating...

When spending $$ at an unfamiliar company, I will usually conduct online research before I deal with them, just to see what previous customers have to say. Or I'll try to talk with people who have dealt with them.

Unfortunately, even after doing this, one can still get burned.

I've had horrible experiences with businesses which received glowing reviews in the past. And I've also had great experiences with companies which don't rate the highest on the totem pole.

I imagine steps 1-5 involve hanging out in the lounge, drinking beer, laughing at their customers, ect.

Seriously, go onto Angie's list and rail on these dirtbags. Not only did they swirl up your paint, they probably took 1/3 of your clear coat off.

Winning!

Don't go back! Unbelievable how they could call themselves pros.

UPDATE...

I went back to the shop today, and was told that the paint sealer they used may not have taken to my paint because there was not enough paint on the car.

This is the equivalent of a mechanic telling you that your flux capacitor is broken. :bash:

Just read through this, these guys should spend more time detailing and less time decorating their lounge.

Sorry this happened, good luck!

UPDATE....

I decided to take my car to Ivan over at LUSTR Detail.
He went over my car and gave me an awesome 2 Step polishing and when I picked up the car it was better than new. I appreciate all the positive input that everyone posted for me on this site. Now I am onto getting my money back from Simon's.

Great Deal!!! I'm glad that you got a great finish to this problem with your ride. I know from talking to you on the phone that you were really frustrated with all of this, and rightly so... Good luck trying to get your money back from Simon's. From reading the reviews of that place I'd suggest going in with "thick skin" and be prepared to get Screamed at. :nomore:

Thanks for the update David!! A photo or 2 of the finished job would be nice too.

Wow. i only charge 175 for a full detail and my work comes out to perfection. no swirls, buff marks, ANYTHING

David, thanks for the opportunity to fix the problem and hope you enjoy the finish now. Best of luck with Simon's and as I told you I'll be emailing you all the relevant photos once I get through them today or tomorrow.

Fort those interested, the paint went from what you'll see below in the before photos to nearly perfect, aside from some really deep RIDS that were mostly on the lower panels. I opted to do only 2 polishing steps (some places got 3) due to the paint readings being fairly low, but fortunately even with just one cutting step I was able to correct all the damage from before and the finish turned out amazing.

Here are a few photos of the job... (Full set here...LUSTR Auto Detail - David E500 Correction - a set on Flickr)

When you picked up the car Sunday you should have came on in and met the guys. :props:

ps: That sure is a great looking truck in the picture behind your car. lol.

I wouldn't put much stock in that review. It sounds made up, plus what do you expect out of a $20 car wash?

Someone needs to tell that reviewer to get to the point

2 cents

Agreed, He's complaining b/c there was a little water in the door jambs.

From Yelp, it looks like more of a high volume hand car wash shop than a detail shop.
