  • With the disastrous day yesterday. I've given up on finding good powder coater or the color that best matched the hyper silver. So today we're taking a small trip to anywhere USA just to get away till our big trip next month.
Well now.. As part of my continuing "You Can't Make This Sh!t Up" thread.. took the newly powder coated wheel to the tire shop all went well tire and new stem went on.. then drove to the cars wash and car wash I've used for years and this happen.. needless to say.. I'm pissed..

Just got a text from the wife after she seen the newly powder coated wheel. she want me to go head and grab a tire from our basement stock and have it mounted with the rubber stems.. So i'll prob be leaving shortly to have that done. Not how I wanted it to e done.. but 1 wheel is better than no wheels..
Stopped my meinke to check if the Dr was in the house.. he wasn't and glad I checked he wont be there till next sat.. all that leaves is the GodSpeed end links to install this Sat then we're off to PA and western MD..
For all those who think I'm making this sh!t up.. Drove 3 hours to the shop, picked up one good wheel and sold the damaged wheel to the powder coater. he said he's going to use the damaged wheel in his showroom to show customers how NOT to repair wheels.. otherwise the Eastwood Hotcoat silver is nearly identical to the hyper silver.

Going to run to camping world this weekend and pick up the 2025 camping/RV locations book then make a beeline to antietam battlefield and renew our national parks service pass card.
Wanted to do a trial run with the single bed in the back of the van, But with the rain setting in for the next 4 days.. we'll have to wait. This will be a good time to get those end links and struts on.
With 1 month off (2 1/2 weeks) we can't decide what direction we want to go before getting the wife back at her new position. It's either too hot and humid down south and too many forest fires up north and too many dumpster fires all around us....
This morning driving 3 hours to the shop just to pick up the one good wheel and sell the bad wheel to the powder coater who seems to want to use this as part of their before and after display. I'm definitely going to tell the who claimed they "fixed" the wheel in the first place.. That other place claims 10 years experience..
yet again the Focus St Forum banned my account claiming spam.. yet I post my topics in the "Other Builds" section along with other Transit Connect builds.. this is how it's always been. Clearly someone doesn't want others to see our van build progress
Salvation! we just located a shop in FLA who happens to have the Motul 5W20 motor oil we need. So I bought (10) 1 ltr bottles of the stuff. I always get 1 ltr bottles to measure out the exact amount needed for the oil change. plus the Motul window stickers are back on the Van!
This just in: I emailed the wheel repair shop, they said the one wheel was badly damaged and only worth scrap. but the powder coater said he was willing to give us $45.00 and would like to use the damaged wheel as part of a before and after display. We agreed to sell the damaged wheel. $45.00 is better than nothing.
2 days ago I sent an email to the shop asking about the wheels.. it's been 5 weeks and I wanted an update. They just back with me saying what I was expecting to hear.. 1 wheels is good while the other is bad and can't be repaired.. So told them to coat the good wheel and we'll pick them up when ready.. Crap..
Not what I wanted to hear.. I was handed an early retirement letter today. I'm being forced out. while on the other hand, the wife was relocated to a new department at her work and was guaranteed there would be work for her for the next 5 years.. Plus their giving her 3 weeks off to prepare for the transition to the new area.
