  • We drove over to Glen Burnie this past weekend as there is one of the best car washes in that area. But while on the road, several cars pulled up, rolled down their windows and saying stuff like "I seen what you did! and I like it!" then asking for a web site.. I didn't have one to give them. I'm just not willing to post my upgrades online.
I can't believe it, after years of sifting through crap/junk youtube channels, I was finally able to block channel suggestions from the thumbnail view on the right side of the page. Now all I'll get, is channels I've selected to view. Sort of like subscribing, without subscribing.
The A-tach tablet holder is in route to us, so while we wait, I removed the A-tach dash mount designed for a phablet or larger phone. Once the tablet arrives, we'll remount the phone mount and figure out where the 11'' tablet will go.
This morning checked in with the A-Tach site and ordered a tablet mount for the van. Our dash has the basic electronics. but adding this new 11'' inch table to the dash for traveling will help us both. In the past the wife would end up holding an 8'' table and make adjustments along the way. this time hands free and big enough I can see the route.
Months of squeaking, rattling and knocking are finally over. The van rides and drives smooth and powerful again.. We're still taking it easy over bumps and potholes as Maryland has plenty of these all over the state.
A new 11'' samsung tablet arrived yesterday while we were out. plugged it in for a charge and waited. after a few hours, installed a navigation app and the national parks app.. road trip is imitate.
The Dr drove the van around the shop, then pulled it into the garage.. told me he adjusted a few things and then handed me the keys.. I didn't know what to expect. But one turn out of the shop driveway, I knew he fixed. 9 months of knocking and all's fixed, I hugged the guy gave him 100.00 tip, He told me next time I come in to see him, He'll do a free install.
Since Sept of last years, we've always had some sort of knocking sound coming from the passenger side of the van and even when replacing the the new strut and mount, the knocking was still there. After getting this all done I ran over the Meinke and had the "Doctor" check things out.
Once the strut was removed, the mount looked to be solid, buit once the bolt was removed the top hat simply fell off in pieces.. it's like the mount had completely explored within the strut tower. Then the tech had a hard time installing the new strut and mount as nothing would line up. But the passenger side done in 3 hours.. which should not have taken that long.
Rough day yesterday while at the shop having the new struts and strut mounts installed. it took several hours for the tech to extract the old/damaged strut and mount from the van. Several parts of the strut and mount were completely broken and it was very difficult to remove. He was so tired after, we was only able to install one strut and mount.
Operation: "Strut Your Stuff' successfully delivered yesterday afternoon and man these mounts look extremely durable.. Now off to the shop this morning for the install. fingers cross as a lot is literally riding on this.. This is going to be make or break time..
