  • Seems there's an interest in the new upgraded stiffer rear springs on the sites I visit.. I'll be working up a "kit" which will adapter the monroe shocks to the van assuming those following are wanting to upgrade to the stiffer/lowering springs.
    Opps, just learn that Lithium grease should not be used on rubber bushings.. so taking that spray grease back and getting a silicone based spray grease.
    One thing I meant to add earlier is that over the weekend, I noticed that the passenger side front tire was low on air.. much lower than I've ever seen.. inspected the tire, no nails.. checked the metal stem, no leaks.. removed the cap.. BAM.. the plastic cap has a deformed seal which was causing air to leak out.. I'm done with caps.
    One thing or a negative thing about the Powerstop carbon fiber/ceramic pads is that when it rains, the pad tend to squeak after the van's bene sitting for a while. one thing I did this morning is to spray some grease on the coil springs at the poly junction and to make sure no grease over spray got on the rotors. I used the brake kleen spray.
    With The upcoming trip. I've created a necessity bag that has several car cleaning products along with care car products. The Liter-1 bug and tar will be the most used item in the bag.
    Still no word on if I'll be allowed to drive this new (3rd) track. But even if they don't allow us, I'm getting a new helmet for future tracks next week, which should arrive in late Sept early Oct.
    After the failed attempt to install the Hardrace Camber plate, I'm hearing from others that this could work, and for me to just drill out new mounting holes.. Not sure there would be enough meat to the material, but I've already sent back the rear hub assemblies..
    The "Breaking News" still hasn't been confirmed and I'm still waiting to hear back from those I spoke with.. Time is running out cause we hit the road in a few days.. is this going to be a make or break situation? or we just show up and hope for the best.. I did print their conversation with me just in case.
    Oddly yesterday, Grassroots web site has allowed for my return.. forum members are rather pleasant this morning towards me. but there will always be haters no matter where I go.
    Mount arrive a few mins ago. Been test fitting the tablet to the mount and realized that the adjustable ball joint would stick the tablet out too far and would interfere with the shifter. I'll have to do a flush mount with the gorilla double sided tape. which isn't an issue
    Oh btw, in case you missed it or I forgot to post it.. the wife's liver biopsy came back without any issues, but still stage 1 cirrhosis needs to be kept in check.
    Finally some movement with the tablet holder.. tracking says next Monday.. This will give me ample time to locate and mount this setup for the upcoming trip.
    As I've said, the wife keeps telling me to trust my gut feeling. So this morning, My gut feeling is telling me to keep the extra monroe strut mount in the van while on our travels..
    I tested the LED replacement bulb for the 3D cell maglite flashlight and I hated it. it kept flickering.. so I returned it to amazon for a full 17.00 refund.. thats right one small bulb was 17.00.. but I now have a H bulb in route to our location which replaces the old outdated bulb. Hopefully this bulb will work better in the maglite.
    The A-Tach tablet mount is in transit to our location and I can't wait to get this installed. The wife has always held the tablet while I drive. this holder will allow both of us to see the route better with it's big 11'' screen.
    it's obvious what those other drivers seen under the van.. Most parts do not stick out like a sore thumb and one has to get at the right angle just to see them.
