How do you get white wall tires white again?

As mentioned, Westley's Bleche Wite has been the standard for eons. A wheel brush works for all but the worst stained white walls and RWLs. On the stubborn ones I use a brass-bristled brush and let BW dwell after wetting the tire. On extremely thin WWs or surfaces where I don't want to use...

    Custom Bike Detail - B & B Detailing - Nashville Tn

Limited Edition and priced accordingly, basically hand-built at the factory by 2 guys at a dedicated assembly station and it has rust on the pipes!?! Sheesh. I always used Brillo or SOS on chrome with no ill effects. Basically fine steel wool and the soap acts as a lubricant. M105 works nicely...

    Custom Bike Detail - B & B Detailing - Nashville Tn

Is that 2000 yellow FXR4 in pic 1 next on the agenda? At least you won't have to concern yourself with keeping polish off black engine cases. Not much matte black on that bike. FWIW, I've found Opti Coat to work primo as an LSP on chrome exhausts. Not only does it not burn off immediately, the...

    New from OH

:welcome: I'm over in Amish horse-hockey-on-the-road-country a bit north of Warren. I have both the PC and the GG 6" (as well as other DAs and rotaries). I strongly prefer the GG DA. It has some extra oomph when needed. 5.5" pads are a good choice. I haven't used the XMT swirl removers, I...

No Detail Fest for me :-(

Oh maaaaaan, you really know how to hurt a guy. There's an investment opportunity if I ever saw one! Guess I'll put my money into tapioca futures instead. TL

No Detail Fest for me :-(

After spending a leisurely Bike Week in Daytona with 700,000 of my closest friends I figured on wandering around FL working on my sunburn. Some not-too-serious issues have arisen with aging parental units but they require a timely and decisive resolution. So I'm blasting northbound on the bike...

When is everybody arriving for Detail Fest?

I expect to be rolling in sometime Friday early afternoon. Just look for the disgustingly dirty, buggy black bike. TL

    Tonneau Cover Protectant

303 isn't particularly long lasting. I've been using Ultima Tire & Trim Guard+ on my tonneau and trim. Doesn't run and is longer lasting than most. I give it a vigorous wipe after application to get rid of the shine and provide a more natural look. YMMV, TL

    Detail Fest Hotel 2012

Heh...they tell me I've got the only room on the 1st floor with two beds. I usually do that in case someone turns up late out of luck or the place overbooked. Some reviews I saw on TripAdvisor suggests this has been a common occurance at the Courtyard in the past. TL

    Motorcycle Scratches on New Motorcycle.

The OP doesn't mention what make/model of bike he's working on. As CRXMAN knows, H-D's Vivid Black is extremely soft, especially on the tank and tin. They use a clear powdercoat on the tanks vs traditional clear. I can only guess it may be due to better fuel-spill resistance. All of my...

Traveling the farthest for Detail Fest 2012?

Depends, usually it's two days to Daytona for Bike Week but I have the luxury of time these days. :) Busted my butt northbound to beat a snowstorm a few years ago and did the 986 miles in 19 hours. I've got a week between Bike Week and Detailfest to wander. No hurry getting back since I don't...
