    Try this without a steamer

I've been debating back and forth between a Hill Injection, a Tosca, or a VX5000 for a while now; do you find you need the hot water injection function very often (did you on this job)?

Doing the right thing, at the right time.

    Good deed!

Umm, so you randomly saw it on the side of the road and decided it would make a good pet?

What's the strangest thing you've ever found?

    Oh yeah, been there. Disgusting.

    New Layout for the Studio...

Looks much nicer than before! Does raise some potential concerns though: 1) Do those wall wash lights mess with the white balance of the cameras and make getting good clear shots of the cars more difficult? If you look at the pictures you took with the Mustang parked on there it would seem...

reasonable charge to get a 3-step paint correction with opti-coat

Personally for a job like that you'd probably be looking at ~20 hours and my rate is $40/hr so as others have said, ~$800. However, I would encourage you to sit down and figure out your own costs/expenses/overhead and set an hourly rate that earns you what you want to be earning. That's much...

    Improving the bottom line

My bet is those are his "retail" hours -- he may have wholesale accounts that are done earlier than that, or later...

What kind of shirts to get?

I definitely wouldn't wear those while working -- could scratch paint with the buttons. For polos/jackets/etc. check out this site: LogoUp.com Custom Embroidered Shirts & Hats Prices seem pretty good, I'm going to give them a try here soon since I need to pick up a few shirts with my updated...

Any thoughts on my website design?

Looks great! Only thing I'd suggest is lose the stock photos in favor of ones you have taken yourself.

I've been testing Lake Country's new line of pads....

So the heavy cut does better than the Cyan HT... and I assume doesn't flake apart as quickly either? How does the cut and finish compare to the MF pads?

Garage lighting - easy upgrade option

Special ballasts? What I bought at Home Depot were $15 each; wouldn't be surprised if the price has gone up slightly though. Agreed. It only took me roughly 15 minutes per fixture to remove the old ballast and install/wire the new one (and part of that time was spent cleaning dust off of and...

Garage lighting - easy upgrade option

Interesting; I found the cost of upgrading ballasts to be roughly half the cost of new fixtures when I did mine a little over a year ago. Plus the new fixtures were made of thinner sheet metal than my existing ones.

    What a day!

Interesting. I don't recall saying you don't run your business professionally. The only issue I have/had was your assessment that "IF something did happen...it happened outside my business, and it would have been a hit and run situation. Just cause the vehicle was near my shop, doesn't mean I'm...

    What a day!

This forum needs a "like" button :props: Any time I have a customer's car, I try to keep it indoors or out of sight as much as possible... ALWAYS garaged at night, and blocked in by one of my personal vehicles during the day if it has to sit outside for some reason.

    Business: Fictitious Name...Help!

No problem! I know of Art Moran; he owns several dealerships in Michigan. Since he likely pays for those top spots, it would be tough to get your site at the top of a search, but I don't think it would be impossible to get to the first page of results -- in fact I typed "Art Moran" into google...

    Business: Fictitious Name...Help!

Actually: I suppose you could approach the owner about purchasing the domain if he's not doing anything with it.... AND, the name is not currently trademarked. Abandoned in 2009:
