    Advice - 1999 BMW 750 IL

Jet black? That's typically some extremely soft paint -- it tends to mar if you look at it cross-eyed. Your biggest hurdle is going to be getting it to finish down properly.

Ran into a big problem today...

Another good one to try is the 3M General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner. That stuff will dissolve just about anything without hurting paint.

    Sure should be available OTC.

Thinking of getting a new detailing vehicle...

I'd go with an old Ambulance.... call yourself the Detail Doctor :props: I should also point out that there's one highly successful and well known detailer by the name of Scottwax that has been detailing out of a car (Honda Accord/Nissan Maxima) for many years. It CAN work, but I would...

Thinking of getting a new detailing vehicle...

An old boat Cadillac or Lincoln isn't going to drive much different than a van or truck. Plus with those older luxury sedans unless you stick to a pretty much stock outward appearance (meaning no aftermarket wheels/etc. either) they look like "boyz in da hood" which could definitely scare some...

    Optimum forum down?

Not sure why I'm bringing it up? Because I felt it would be useful to mention what is actually used for web hosting purposes, not that it has anything even remotely to do with the issue here.

    Boot Camp Corvette

Not me (that's the top off my uncle's C5) but yep, that's what happens when you go down the road without making sure the roof is latched down  Ended up just having the lexan panel replaced since it was taking forever to cut through those gouges.

    Optimum forum down?

Who is your hosting company? Obviously they aren't too smart when it comes to dealing with DNS propagation -- should have lowered the TTLs at least 24-48 hours in advance of the migration so the cache would update quickly. Umm.... pretty much ALL forums use a SQL backbone. Yup, DNS cache...

    Boot Camp Corvette

Yeah, Lexan is no joke to work with... been there tried that! Even block sanding gouges out is near impossible.

Right; at least until M101 becomes domestically available.

    Megs 101

Nothing new or secret about it, it's been out for a while in Europe and Asia, only recently have we been getting our hands on it here in the US though -- all of which has had to be imported at considerable cost. The UK? Where/who in the UK? Meguiar's doesn't sell or distribute it in Britain...

green guzlers compared to yellow hd guzlers

The green ones are extremely similar to my usual go-to favorite Meguiar's Water Magnet towels. I've also found great success using one of the small green Guzzlers for streak-free glass cleaning.

I cant believe how many hours I've spent on the forum today...

I've got to give you credit -- thank you for taking the initiative to read through the information repository this forum has to offer. Wish more people would do that instead of posting extremely basic questions over and over again.

    Linex Bedliner Care

I can honestly say I've never "dressed" the LineX in my truck; actually when I bought the truck the installer gave me the option to have him put a UV resistant additive in the mix to keep it from fading over time. All I ever do is broom/vacuum it out, then head up to the coin op car wash to...

    joe paterno dead at 85

Hey, it was his own choice to throw his career and legacy down the drain by not reacting properly when a problem was brought to his attention. I have no sympathy for him in that regard. However as he did have lung cancer, I will say it's probably for the best that his physical suffering was...

New Car Decision, 2012 subaru wrx sti or 2013 mustang gt premium

Gotta go Mustang on this one. Nothing wrong with a WRX STi but honestly, there's just nothing like the feel of American muscle.
