    5/5.5 pad vs 6.5 pad on 3401

Hey guys, What is the benefit to a smaller pad on a forced rotation DA like the 3401? I can understand on free rotating DAs that might be slightly underpowered (like PC 7424) but I don't understand going to a smaller pad on a machine that isn't going to slow down no matter what. I would assume...

    McKee's 37 360 vs HD Speed - A quick review and comparison

Gotcha thanks! Why do you prefer the 5" hybrids over the 6.5 ones on the 3401? Perhaps I could get a 4" bp and get 5" pads myself depending on your reason. Less walking? less vibration? better control?

If there are great AIOs like HD Speed and Mckee's 37 360, why use 2 step anymore?

Thanks guys. I appreciate the answers! It probably deserves it's own thread, but I need to start looking at some correcting polishes here too. There are just so many to choose from. I come from the adam's line, and you have 2 polishes there. correcting polish and finishing polish. Nothing else...

    HD Speed

oh and one more question. How many pads do you usually use with that polisher, pad and product combo?

If there are great AIOs like HD Speed and Mckee's 37 360, why use 2 step anymore?

A car in this condition (the usual wash marks over years) would work well with a AIO I think. If the car has very hard paint like corvettes, well I don't know then. There aren't too many cars with such hard clearcoat. See here - I will do some before and after pics when everything comes in...

Mike, what pad do you use with your AIO products?

Was going to add this to the original post, but I guess I can't edit that anymore. Now that I got some sun here, I took some pics. They are pretty shallow and minor, but there is a good amount.

    McKee's 37 Product Expert Here!

I think I'm going to give the 360 a try and order a set of 6.5 LC Hybrid pads (2 of each blue, orange and white) for flex 3401. I don't have HD Speed, so I hope I'm making the right decision! Will use it on my daily drivers. I looked at the jewel, but I'm not sure if that's the product I'm...

If there are great AIOs like HD Speed and Mckee's 37 360, why use 2 step anymore?

I don't have any vehicles with this much damage, but I would call that closer to 90 than anything else. http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/product-reviews/101443-hd-speed-4.html#post1392765

Re: If there are great AIOs like HD Speed and Mckee's 37 360, why use 2 step anym... My last corvette was a '03 z06 like yours. I know about hard paint. but I didn't know about DAs and polishers back then. I tried it with my hand and that didn't work lol. I'm starting to make sense of it now...

Mike, what pad do you use with your AIO products?

Yeah, I saw that. He used a black CCS LC pad which afaik has no cutting ability. again. the video in that car looks impeccable, so I would assume black or white is sufficient. lol will the white generally finish better compared to an orange? I guess white prioritizes finish and orange...

Mike, what pad do you use with your AIO products?

Yep. it's like asking what car is best for me... Well... you gotta test drive them... I was looking today and it's very hard to find flaw in the paint. with a bright led light, you can see some slight swirl marks from improper washing, but honestly they're so shallow, I don't think I will...

Mike, what pad do you use with your AIO products?

Well we have 4 cars here. But the 1st one I do will be a '11 Benz CL550 without the crazy ceraclear coat. Other cars that will probably see this would be a '15 Pathfinder and a '14 Volt. Also how many pads you guys use on a vehicle? I was going to buy the 6 pack, so I will probably combine a few

If there are great AIOs like HD Speed and Mckee's 37 360, why use 2 step anymore?

Re: If there are great AIOs like HD Speed and Mckee's 37 360, why use 2 step anym... Those would have to be some spots that actually got scratched by something besides poor washing techniques. Example would be the wife's ring hit the paint somewhere or someone dragged something across the...

Mike, what pad do you use with your AIO products?

Thanks guys. I know he's very busy. I sometimes don't understand how he can post his detailed articles and posts here on top of everything he does at the shop!!! I wish I went to the cars & coffee meet today because I could have asked him in person! :D I guess I'm trying to justify if the added...

If there are great AIOs like HD Speed and Mckee's 37 360, why use 2 step anymore?

I'm one of those people. I feel like if I see some stuff I couldn't correct, so I end up believing I didn't correct enough or properly. In all truth, not all scratches are the same. one spot might be deeper than other and one spot might not be corrected like rest of the car. I guess I have to...

Nothing says you can't layer it though. Put some wax on top of it! That's what I plan on doing on 1 of my cars anyways.

If there are great AIOs like HD Speed and Mckee's 37 360, why use 2 step anymore?

So that's the truth? At this rate, a traditional 2 or 3 step process should be a thing of the past unless you have a car that needs to stay in showroom condition!
