Getting racked over the coals on AG shipping costs

Ok... I think the number of unreasonable requests has surpassed the allowable limits. Not sure if Flash mentioned it in this thread or another, but he's right, a lot more goes into running a profitable business that many realize.

    CarPro Trix

I have an '01 540i with plastic trim, emblems, etc. I used IX and TX separately; they did not stain any part of my car. I didn't use a test spot, (silly me), but I made sure neither chemical dried on the car. If you're worried, you could dress the plastics with UTTG before to protect it. I know...

Getting racked over the coals on AG shipping costs

I hear you. Customers that don't know the system miss out. It would be great if they had a free shipping over "X" amount of dollars permanently affixed to their home page for all customers to see. Amazon does free shipping over $25, others over $75 and yet others over $100. If AG wants to...

Getting racked over the coals on AG shipping costs

DJBAILEY, unfortunately you didn't know about the "AGO" coupon code. The code provides free shipping for orders over $95 dollars. Since you spent over $100, you would have qualified. Next time.

    Want to try a sealant...

There is no easier sealant to apply than UPGP. There are others that are just as easy, but not easier. Dave notices a nuba type of glow to it, I've noticed a more hard candy look to it and yes, it can be topped with waxes. The 4-ouncer will last you many years. Probably for the life of your...

Best interior protectant to use on dash etc? Please read thanks!

Another PERL user. I like its versatility, but don't like that it doesn't last long. I use it diluted 1:3 and like that it darkens my fading dash, even if it's only for a month. Edit: I used UTTG for the dash one time. It lasted a long while, 6+ months, gave it a great shine, but was unaware...

    soft water?....distilled water?

I use distilled water for final rinsing and to mix chemicals. I paid $100 bucks for a used 12-gallon distiller and pay about 30¢ per gallon (electricity use). My next step is to hook up my pressure washer to a tank filled with distilled water and use it for every step that requires water. I...

Nissan GT-R Black Edition Correction - TLC Auto Detail

With all the discussion that has been going on lately over Show N Shine's, I notice many don't contain "money shots". This thread has them. Looks like another winner. Nice work.

How do you get "Countries Top Detailer" title?

I don't believe they're anointed "top detailer" until they've spent decades building their reputation. Mike P. is one such detailer. Many claim to be one of the best in the country, but I doubt any of the other top 10 know more about detailing than Mike.

Alex, that just goes to show you how much you need to charge when you detail for profit. $50 bucks an hour and up.
