    Car Pro Reflect - Awesome!

I completely agree... I completely agree again...there seems to be no match at this point. I haven't used Cut yet...but Speed, Polish and Adapt created absolutely no dust. Also, I use less product with all of the polishes and the removal is effortless. It seemed like everyone...

Possible Spring 2014 Chicagoland Detail Day?

Was only able to decontaminate with Iron X shampoo and also the liquid. Then clayed only the vertical panels so far---also used HD Speed on the same panels. First time using the product so we shall see how it turns out once the sun comes up. Luckily I told the dealer to not even consider...

Possible Spring 2014 Chicagoland Detail Day?

I'll be there--Lexus IS350 F-sport Should I bring anything? I have never been to a detailing meet, but I'm guessing I should bring some random products/tools so people can see them in person in case they haven't already or are thinking about buying...etc. Is there a list of stuff people are...

Possible Spring 2014 Chicagoland Detail Day?

I think I'll be able to make it. Just got a new car a week ago, so I haven't done much to it yet. Haven't even clayed it :(. Going to see what I can get done tomorrow--weather is supposed to clear up. I'll bring something to give away. Anything else?

first attempt at detail... did NOT go well

I saw you posted in the Chicagoland detail thread. Next weekend you will gain a TON of information and valuable critiquing from members here. Maybe just wait until then so you don't get discouraged. I'm going to try and make it myself, but not sure if I'll be in town or not.

Whenever I polish, i get tons of dust?

I'm surprised that you didn't run into an issue--usually the sun and/or the hot panels cause the polish to dry prematurely. This is usually when it will spit out dust if the other causes of dust are checked off. I figured since he said he doesn't remember this happening before and the only...

    LSP stripping - soaps/foam cannon

I'm not going to get into my beliefs, but... This is some testing I just did the other day on 4 month old Adam's Machine Super Sealant topped with D156 after every wash. (This is after the winter season) 1. Power washed car --Foam Cannon was next with 4 different shampoos-- 2. AutoFinesse...

    Foam Cannon: Over it

He's referring to what people call 'dwelling'. If a shampoo isn't an active cleaner, its not going to lift anything off the paint. Most shampoos are designed to be lubricants that hold particles in the bubbles WHILE you drag your wash media over the surface. So, pre-soaking a maintenance...

    What type of hose!?

Wow, I have never heard of such hose. Going to save this link in my favorites and consider buying one soon. Very durable?...I currently have a Craftsman Rubber hose and absolutely love it, but this hose you linked looks fantastic.

    Foam Cannon: Over it

There you go! I had a feeling that was the problem once I read you had to turn it upside down in order to get a slight improvement. Hopefully you get your desired results going forward--let us know...

    Foam Cannon: Over it

2 questions: 1. Did you shake the cannon to mix up the soap? 2. Is the 'suction draught tube' connected?

    Your wash sponge/mitt/pad

I currently use wool wash pads... ....but has anyone used the MF 'Bone' wash sponge? I'm thinking about trying it out.

    Detailing Methodology

Too funny... I do some edge work first like C. Brown mentioned earlier, but I guess it depends on the car.

    Is sonax fe hazardous material?

Maybe consider contacting Evans Chemetics... :dunno: They may know a thing or two about Sonax and the properties of 'color changing' wheel cleaners--well at least their parent company will. They are in fact the leaders in that category. Just a hunch.

    3 Inch Foam Pads?

Autogeek doesn't sell the CCS 3in pads and the HydroTechs don't last more than one or two uses. Consider Meguiars 3in MF pads as well. Also, unless I'm mistaken and cant find the spot, Autogeek should consider searching pads by size.
