    Backing plate failed

Polished down an entire SUV yesterday with zero heat issues. I was using a Boss foam pad with the center cooling hole, on a few areas I did break out a LC MF pad and there was some heat. So it looks like I'm going to start swapping out my LC's for GG MF pads with the center hole. Polisher ran...

I really appreciate the time and thought you took with this. It was at spd 5 with a lake country MF pad with CarPro’s clear cut when the heat was coming up. I’m not sure what OPMs are at spd 5, but it’s stated at spd 6 to be 5300. I’m still a little reserved on the machine, I want it to blow...

    Backing plate failed

Just got off the phone with GG, new backing plate is on its way. Alan, gentlemen I spoke with, told me they use spd 4 for cutting and have never needed spd 6 as it’s overkill. Talked about technique and I mentioned the pads I was using didn’t have the hole, he said the polisher really needs...

    Backing plate failed

I was thinking about this all night! I wonder if because of the heat issue with this machine and GG pads ALL having the hole this may have been a big issue. When I was watching the live feed from them a few weeks ago they kept talking about how important that center hole was for the backing...

    Backing plate failed

As much as I hate to say this, I think it may be partially my fault. I’m used to a slower/less powerful machine. The old G21 was a 900W 5k OPM unit, new one is 1100W 5300 OPMs. Is there a chance I just had a HUGE learning curve lesson? Is the speed/power that much stronger? I wasn’t even at spd...

    Backing plate failed

What’s so frustrating is I’ve been using the same technique for years, now new machine and I smoke a backing plate?! I’ve been using a 21mm machine for years, is the smaller throw that much of a difference?

Took my new G15 for its inaugural run. LC MF pad with plenty of CarPro Clear Cut on the pad and after doing the hood I could feel how hot the machine was. Was cruising on speed 5 minimal pressure and kept it moving, not sitting still. Went to blow out the pad and soon as the I hit the air on...

I see it was a simple enhancement polish, so maybe you don’t know. But would you say the paint was on the hard side? That car has so many angles I’ve been wondering how it will be to correct.

    2018 Porsche GT3

As usual fantastic work! I've noticed you've been using Griots product line for awhile, what are your thoughts compared to others? I've been on CarPro's line for a while but always wanted to try the Boss line up. I've got GG machines so why not right??

    Video of Zymols Graphene shield

Still a new product, so company’s longevity claims are hard to confirm. It’s a spray on Graphene coating, that you level down with a MF block, then wait for the flash spritz and buff off. My car had some paint work on the drivers side fender to back drivers side door few months back, so fresh...
