Biggest Wax Test Ever - Detailing World

I have gotten 3 months of NB before the protection started noticeably fading, and thats in South FL weather. Collinite 915 though will outlast any wax and pretty much any sealant. That stuff is magical, don't know what they do... lol

    Ultimate compound on headlights?

The above tips on sanding are good, the special polishes for lights are only good for light hazing etc. Correct sanding then polishing can turn bad lights into damn near brand new. Yours don't look bad, may be able to polish it fine.

What kind of seats are in an early model ford zx2? Leather or vinyl?

Probably what I call "pleather" which is imitation/synthetic leather, for some reason I doubt that car had leather interior but who knows I may be wrong.

example of why a paint cleaner is important

I've noticed that before, everything looks perfecto after polishing, looks clean and smooth. Then I go over with Klasse AIO and finishing pad and whammo, white pad starts turning darker. I too would think after claying and correctly polishing and wipe down that the paint would be clean... but...

Some help with chrome wheels please

That doesn't look like pitting, that actually looks like something in the chrome itself, like flakes. You cleaning them up and polishing etc and saying it makes it more noticeable is just as if you were to prep/polish/wax paint to bring out the metallic flakes in certain colors.

Water spots come back after wet-sanding! Argh!

I've never seen a product that just sheets water, all the sealants I've tried bead pretty much exactly like wax does, even the sealants that said they "sheet" water.

    Steel wool (0000)

0000 Steel wool is awesome for windows/glass, I wouldn't use on painted surfaces, but wheels are tough to say, whether coated or non etc. I have chrome wheels and it worked with AIO w/o damage but ya never know. I tested a small spot first, as it worked great to remove bits that were pitted that...

Question about Tax Deductions for detailing?

Re: Question about Tax Deductions for detailing. LLC, every biz I have is under an LLC, always keep the business a separate legal entity as it'll have its own EIN and not your social. SP is ok if your just starting but 99% of the time ends up transferring to corporation, may as well do that...

    New Griots Glass Cleaning Clay

Polish with a 4" cutting pad works well for that, blends down most pits, worked for me.

    Leaf blower or Drying towel?

:iagree: especially on my trucks where nooks and crannies abound for water to coninuously drip from that a towlel will never do (or will work but have to go over and over and over, like window seals etc). Then I go over with a micro and qd'er. If your vehicle is prepped well and has lsp, the...

LSP: Tried many - I just don't see a difference!!!

I have a few more expensive waxes, souv, cg 5050 etc. But I can really tell no difference between the more expensive ones, and Natty's Blue... whether on a light vehicle (white) or dark. Sometimes depending on light etc one looks a tad diff etc, but really they all looks about the same to me...

    5 star shine?

I've always wondered how they could claim 5 years, just don't see that happening... except maybe if the car is kept in a sealed a/c garage, and in its own protective air-bubble cover, and never leaves the garage lol. Then again Collinite somehow gets their carnauba wax to outlast basically any...

    Anyone computer saavy?

Yea run for spyware or hijackthis, the odd thing is normally that would go to some phishing site or spam site, not facebook. Personally I'm gonna say don't use Firefox, the new 3.5.3 version is absolutley horrible always crashing, error messages, flash trouble, and slooooooooooow. And I've...

    Durability for nuba waxes

Agree, use a combo of DG 105 topped with Collinite 915 and you have a bullet proof winter combo.

    Tried A Leaf Blower Today

Odd... on a waxed surface the water literally shoots right off. I can dry my whole truck about 95% leaving some droplets in a fraction of the time it takes with a towel/guzzler etc. So many nooks and crannies, the window seals etc that will continue to drip water that a towel won't do anything...

Review of many Poorboy's product, Natty Red Vs. Blue

Maybe it's the metallic, but I know with Souveran and Nattys Blue I have both are about the wettest looking waxes. I noticed they both kinda mute flakes though for that pop, that other waxes seem to make bling bling. Like for some reason they both give one of our silver cars a deeper warm glow...
