Why did this thread get pulled....,?

I may have missed some of the last posts, but didn't the shop promise a refund? If so, I'll be the "devil's advocate" here. The shop contracted to do specific a block of work, but got caught cutting corners. The owner apologied profusely and offered to redo the complete job. It was done...

    MDX honeycomb grille protection suggestions

I used Wolfgang's Exterior Trim Sealant on mine. I just wiped it on then wiped it off. It doesn't take as long as you might think. Since the grill is hard, smooth, and shiny plastic, the next time I do it, I am going to use Wolfgang's Deep Gloss Paint Sealant, the same thing I use on the body.

I've had a bunch of turret nozzles over the years and I haven't liked any of them!

    Costco for supplies

I have a lot of very good microfiber towels in my collection. They were all purchased from Autogeek and they are the only towels that touch the paint on my cars. But recently I was in Costco and could not pass up buying the package of 36 yellow Kirkland towels for about fifty cents a piece...

What are your “go to,” most used products during detailing?

Whenever a question is asked about best, favorite, go-to, or similar adjective for a product, the answer is rarely Pinnacle or Wolfgang, The exception might be Deep Gloss Sealant and Uber Rinseless Wash. Why are the others in these two lines rarely mentioned? Is it cost, or are they just not...

IronX and IronX Clones - Fun Facts

Here is a warning that I have not seen mentioned. When you use one of these products, you will surely stink up the air where you are working, but the worst part is when you get in your car and the odor is there too! And then you find out that it lingersinside the car for days afterward. For...

WolfGang Uber Cermamic Coating Review + Update

Thanks for the detailed response. Based on your comments, I will stay with the DGPS. Last year at this time I gav my cares two coats after claying and polishing. When winter was over, I occassional hit it with Fusion wax. It still looks great, but I will soon repeat last falls regimen...

WolfGang Uber Cermamic Coating Review + Update

You stated you have been a long time user of WG DGPS. That is what I used last fall on my garaged black MDX. I'm about ready to start my annual detail on my car and my wife's white MDX. I keep wondering is this the year I should switch to a coating or continue with the WG sealant? I'm not...

New look for the AG store.

It would be a good time to cean-up the reviews rather than restore them. There are many reviews that are several years old for a product that is new or has recently been updated. I have no confidence that what I am reading has anything to do with the current product.

Review: Dr. Beasley’s Matte Paint Coating by Mike Phillips

I agree sixsix. Maybe the photos are not showing the true look of the before and after, but I immediately thought of tire dressings that provide too much shine!

What do you use to polish the front beak of a 2017 Acura RDX

I have an MDX and RDX with the beak. When I detailed them the first time they were both clayed with Pinnacle Clay and then polished with Pinnacle Advanced Finishing Polish. The RDX was then sealed with two coats of Griot's Liquid Gloss Poly Wax (paint and beak), and the MDX received two coats...

Contintental DWS tires and protectant issue....

Scrub them aggressively with Tuf Shine or similar product. Do not apply anything, just drive for a week. Then scrub them aggressively with Tuf Shine. Do not apply anything, just drive for a week. Repeat once or twice more. Finally scrub, dry thoroughly, and apply your favorite non-silicone...

Have you ever stopped doing a vehicle that's too bad?

There is no way of knowing what has been spilled on that carpet, or how many times. By wetting the carpet, you may be wicking up spills that have saturated the carpet, padding, or whatever else is under the carpet. Who knows, maybe even rust from the floorboard or adhesive from the floorboard...

    Clay bar

The OP asked a pretty clear question about clay bars. I'd like to hear answers to that question. I'm not interested in recommendations for Nanoskin or other synthetics - that's a different thread!

    Dyer venting

If your original vent was flexible corregated pipe, the distances you shared are indeed too long. You are lucky you did not have a lint plug occur. Friction losses for corregated pipe is three times greater than smooth pipe. That means 1 ft of corregated pipe has the same losses as 3ft. of...

Is GG6 the right tool for me

Do you want to spend $150 or $400? If the answer is $150, then you have two choices, the PC or the GG. I think most people would recommend the GG. Go with the long cord and the price is $165.

Anyone tried the GG 3" DA with their 2" backing plate?

I own the GG6 and the heavy duty 3" plate. Works great, but the head and shroud still keeps me from getting into many tight places. I interested in hearing how well the GG3 with a 2" plate does in this regard. At the GG3's price point, I could easily justify adding it to my one machine arsenal!

    GG6 stopped working

I suspect brushes are the culprit. If it was an excessively long and small gauge extension cord that caused the problem, there probably would have been some excessive heat at the plug connections or the tool itself. Regardless of the cause, too often we buy extension cords for their looks...

Wheel brushes become less soft over time?

It's a good brush. My tips are/were lighter in color when it was new over a year ago, but they are somewhat soiled now from using it on tires and brake dust. However, my bristles are still very soft when used with warm water and Meg's Classic car wash. I religiously wash the brush in clean...
