I bought a Griot's Garage 3" RO polisher from Autogeek for just that reason. It's also great for doing the A/B/C pillars, painted mirrors, etc. I've even used it to polish glass, headlamps and tail lights.

These were four details in a row I did in May. All 4 were detailed with the same process... Foamed with FoamBlaster. Washed with Meguair's Gold Class. Wheels cleaned with Car Products Magnum wheel cleaner. Tires cleaned with Car Products MaxiWhite tire cleaner. Clayed with Meguiar's Blue...

Do any of you offer maintenance programs for your detailing clients? If so, what is your price range and what do you specifically do?

I use both the rotary and the PC. I only pull out the rotary on "Lazarus projects". It may take a little longer with the PC, but it is safer.

I agree with TLMitchell.. get some 3M painters tape (blue) or automotive masking tape (green) and mask off the areas you do not wax on. A few minutes of taping saves hours of aggravation in rmoving wax whe you do not want it. PS: you don't have to tape off the entir stripe... just the edges.

FYI... Clear coat is paint with no pigments...paint is paint. The areas being redone on the car would still need to be sanded to level out the existing clear as well as wet sanded to remove orange peel in the paint.

Not the whole car. The issue is the clear coat. The affected area can be sanded and reshot.

It will become an issue. It needs to be repainted.
