    Question about essence

Thank you! My goal is to have it finished within a couple weeks. Hopefully there won’t be too many contaminates to deal with in that time. I will say one thing. Essence definitely made a noticeable difference in the shine and gloss. I was rather impressed.

    Question about essence

Im not sure I’m correctly understanding your question. As it sits right now, the car has been polished with Essence. So I can come back when I have more time to apply the Cquartz, but still run into the timing issue of how long is too long between Essence and Cquartz. I considered doing it...

    Question about essence

I’m afraid you may be correct about there not being an answer to my question. Hopefully I won’t cause any issues if I don’t find time to coat it in the next week or two. I will do like you recommend and give it a good Eraser wipe down though.

    Question about essence

I’m trying to slowly get the wife’s Pilot up to par, and time is at a premium with me due to work, kids and other projects. Today I had time to wash and polish the car, but not to apply Cquartz. So here’s the question. How long is too long to apply Cquartz after Essence?

    New glass coating

I see that mckees mentioned. I was under the impression the black label line was a step above that. Is that not the case? Scott, I may have to do like you're doing and try to apply more often. I just feel like the performance I'm seeing is far from what it should be. I bought the product...

    New glass coating

    1. This last time I applied it after I had my windshield replaced due to rock damage. So I cleaned it with glass cleaner, and follows that with the PBL surface cleaner. I think applied it extremely liberally to make sure there was an adequate amount. Then spread and remove per the directions. I...

    New glass coating

It's time for me to try a new glass coating and am looking for some input. I'm currently using PBL glass coating. and don't really care for it. I can only get 3-4mo out of it for some reason, so I'm giving up in it. I have used aquapel in the past with good results. I'm tempted to just go back...

Glossmeter Testing: CQuartz Finest, Zaino, Carnauba?

I think they're a neat idea, but I don't believe I'd have much use for one personally (I don't detail for money). It could serve as a wow factor for a customer though. Just be sure you don't have one customer who goes toting their car has 95 gloss units to find out their friend has 97 and their...

Need a favor from a GG6 owner that has a decibel meter app

Here's some others so you can see how they compare. I don't think the HF ever made it to the list. http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/auto-detailing-tools-accessories/90098-decibel-rating-various-polishers.html

    PBL Glass Coating

Thank you, I'll be certain to go that as well.

    PBL Glass Coating

Thank you. I'll give it a shot. Hopefully it'll work. Hopefully a wash and claying brings it back. I realize that abrasion will remove it over time. It seems 3 months is much shorter than the advertised 18. Since I drive a lot, I was hoping for at least 6 months.

    PBL Glass Coating

It's funny you mention aquapel. I actually really like that product, but thought I'd give PBL a try because the advertising made it seem rather economical with how many cars you can do from a bottle. It's proving to be neither economical nor durable. That reminds me, I need to order some...

    PBL Glass Coating

After having trouble with durability the first few times I tried the PBL glass coating, I decided to give it one last try. My process was pretty straight forward and followed the directions and advice I was given pretty well I thought. Here's how I did it. 1. Get a new windshield (Rock damage)...

    Classifieds

Unless something has changed in my short absence, there's no buying or selling allowed. There was a trade and gifting thread where you could trade and give things away. The main rule was it had to be items varied by AG.

    waterless wash

I pretty much agree with all this. The temperature outside is what it is. The windchill is a number given to how cold it feels, and not how cold it is. If you do attempt to start washing, and find your solution freezing. There may be an option to help you finish. That would be to work in the...

    Hunting tips?

This may sound like a silly question, but what caliber centerfire rifles have you shot? I ask because I agree that a 30.06 or 308 are great all around choices, but not everyone can handle the recoil of an '06. If you're hunting ranges are kept modest, like under 400 yards, you can likely use...

    Paint issue

Ouch. I'm afraid this is looking like it could be a rather costly lesson. I'm with Nicholas. Only a respray will correct this.
