Tail of the Dragon & surrounding roads

Beautiful car and awesome trip. Did I say your car is gorgeous? Lol I've never rode the dragon, but if you have extra time on your next trip check out the snake. If I could sneak away, I may even get to drive it too. It's about an hour from me here in Greeneville...

Where do you get your Distilled Water?

I use the dehumidifier as well. Mine measures 0 TDS, and it's free. The water that your home heat pump is pouring out is likely just as clean too. Medical saline is free from all impurities except......salt. It's 0.9% sodium chloride w/v. Pretty good chance that will leave spots.

    Buffing pad selection

Sorry for just seeing your reply. My main issue was due to their size. My correction issues with them were mainly my fault. I had only one orange, with the rest being white or black. The orange seemed to correct decently, but not very fast on hard GM paint. It did leave a couple rids that...

At What Age Do You Graduate From Grouch To Curmudgeon.

I would say you're more of an inspiration than curmudgeon [emoji6] My only question is where do I get one and can I fill the line with blue dye to catch their person or dog?

    Hey guys, newbie here

I'd say doing it whenever you can would be helpful. My take on it is that anything you can do to get more debris off the vehicle before you washing is a good thing. A good foam soak would be good before any wash. I'd love to have a foam cannon.

    Hey guys, newbie here

I think I messed up explaining how I do my rinseless washes. Depending on how dirty it is I either: 1. Drive through the touchless car wash. Then presoak with rinseless solution and wash at home. Or 2. Presoak and rinseless wash at home. My only real variation is whether or do the...

    Hey guys, newbie here

Nothing wrong with polishing it one section at a time. If you're like me, the only downfall is having part looking great and another part not great. Rinseless washes are sweet aren't they? I love being able to wash the car in the garage. If it's pretty dirty with caked on road spray, I'll...

Recommend me a good carnauba wax

I'm going to say 845 counts as a carnauba wax. This is the last line from AGs description. "If you’re looking for durability and gloss in a liquid carnauba wax, you can’t go wrong with Collinite Insulator Wax. It has been a favorite at car shows and in body shops for more than 40 years."

You beat me too it. It's hard to find better performing products. Their bargain prices make them all the better.

    2015 honda civic polishing question

Why are you expecting it to get really swirled? With proper washing and drying, you should have minimal swirling.

    Steps

You can try to see how it finishes. Worst case scenario is you don't like it and then finish with the foam you have. Honestly, it's all trial and error to see what works for you and your paint. The most important things to remember are: do a test spot, use the least aggressive method first...

Recommend me a good carnauba wax

Your car does look really good, but there maybe more than you realize left on the table. I've though the same as you before, only to see a difference I didn't feel possible after giving it one more step. You can't really tell without trying though. Zach in this thread did a good job showing a...

Recommend me a good carnauba wax

I'll toss in the obligatory plug for dp max wax. Which appears to now be McKee's 37 carnauba wax. http://www.autogeek.net/carnauba-car-wax.html I noticed you said you compounded with ultimate compound. Did you do a final polish with something like ultimate polish? The wax only gives you that...

    Steps

Ive never used it, so I can't say for certain. I'd think you could get it to work though. I've read a review or two that says fixer finishes pretty well on its own. You honestly won't know for certain until you try it though.

    Cquartz question....

From what i understand it depends on when you find it. If you find it fast and it hasn't cured, try wiping it off with a microfiber towel. If it's already cured, you'll have to polish it off and reapply to that area.
