Which to Use

I have a 2009 burgundy Impala. For a car its age it is in pretty good condition. I am thinking about changing the brand of detailing product I have been using. However, looking at different brands they range from very good prices to ridicules. For a guy that was a working slob all his life and now is a retired slob can you recommend a detailing product? I guess I am asking for a good price performer for an armature do it yourselfer. I know this a rather vague question, but I am not sure what information you would need to give me a knowledgeable answer. As all things in my life now price is always an issue, but I am aware that good car care is an investment. Any other information I can supply please let me know.

Welcome to AG. Let the addiction begin. Tons and tons of great products and lineups to use and just looking at the basics and the information provided I will lead of with simple and cost effective yet VERY good stuff. HD's line up of products like HDSpeed which is a terrific All in One (AIO) is a great starting point to consider. There are several "kits" of buffers and pads and what not and they all work well with HDSpeed and their product lineup.

I'd recommend a nice good quality orbital like Griot's Garage or Porter Cable, both are cost effective. Add in some orange pads and HDSpeed and then some beer to enjoy the time.

LSP's that are worth every penny especially on a fixed income and last a very long time. Collinite and Duragloss.

You beat me too it. It's hard to find better performing products. Their bargain prices make them all the better.
 
Here is Mckee's paint coating on a similar gm color.
It's easy to use, cost is $30, plus you could add $20 for their coating prep. Its still competitive with DG's coating system and if either lasts the years they claim plus you can pick it up on sale, it may be more worth it to you in less labor over time

The quality is excellent with the prices being reasonable along with the frequent promotions available on autogeek its a great baseline to compare products with.

Meguiars and Mckees37 also provide great value. Again though with the promotions the costs can be kept low regardless of which brand you decide upon.

I'm sorry it has taken me so long to reply, but I just received an e-mail today. You guys have given me more to do research since I retired. I was hoping for a reply that said for the best at a great price use XYZ. But, I guess the research will be good for my feeble mind.
