New Toy - #5000 Grit Trizact Foam Finishing Discs

Haha, Yea I have a lot of unnecessary detailing products and tools, but they make life a little bit easier. Ive use the 3m trizact quite a bit and i know the finish it leaves behind (very very light oxidation), but like I've said that finish is already so fine. I can only imagine what the...

New Toy - #5000 Grit Trizact Foam Finishing Discs

Wow! I think its great and all but completely unnecessary. Meg/3m 3000 grit foam already leaves a finish so well and easy to buff off what is the point of a 5000grit disc? so you can polish out the scratches with a light polish?

    Best bang for buck Clay?

For a cheap effective clay to use from a business stand point and when doing customer cars, more than likely the paint will be heavily contaminated to where there is a better trade off to using an aggressive clay to quickly remove the contaminates. Time is money after all and the marring left...

"Best" (Highest Lubricity, Shine, Cleaning) Rinseless Wash?

If you are going use a QD afterwards on the paint why not just stick to the most economical(onr/DP on bogo)? If you are doing two steps you will get better results using two different products vs an AIO product. ONR + OCW/DG AW/UQW. ::Edit:: Looking back into your thread I see you are...

Menzerna Paint Refresh VS Pinnacle Crystal Mist...

    Clay & Clay Experiment

I also remember a member using modeling clay/putty or something of that sort at Michaels as a clay alternative. Edit: Here is the link. http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/auto-detailing-101/40864-detailing-modeling-clay-you-decide.html?highlight=Michaels

    Best bang for buck Clay?

AG carries the same product under Ultima elastrofoam but cost quite a bit more.

    Best bang for buck Clay?

Make the switch over to a clay block or towel and you will never use want to use a traditional clay bar ever again. Magna Sponges are really cheap, works 10x faster and lasts several times longer. Plus you can drop them on the floor with no problems. Just give it a quick rinse. They are...

    Economical Microfiber Wash?

Dedicated microfiber detergents. The snake oil of the detailing industry since the inception of microfibers. Its nothing more than a regular degreaser. Just stick to a few oz of megs SD or zep citrus with tide free or what ever non fabric softening detergent.

    Paper Floor Mats

Forget about the paper floor mats. IMO they give off a cheap production detailing image. Instead go for adhesive carpet protectors and trim to size. Looks much more professional. It can be bought locally at homedepot or lowes though I dont know about the logo part.

    Lusso products

I actually prefer 845 to oro. IMO it pretty ordinary besides the scent. Its a good boutique wax but not amazing. Auto bathe on the other hand is an amazing shampoo.

    Anodized aluminum wheels care

Do not use any polishes. Anything abrasive will remove the anodized coating which is basically a thin oxidized layer. washing with soap or a mild cleaner is the only thing you should be doing. If the finish is compromised it will need to be redipped/finished.

    Meguairs M105=?

M95 is some good stuff. It has almost the same cutting power as M105 and has a very long working time with less dusting. I love the stuff, but its not talked about much because of all the praise M105 got. M95 is a hybrid polish containing both DAT and SMAT. It can be used with a DA with no...

What did I do wrong? New car paint now has scratches!

What the manufacture claims are all there to boast the product for sales. AG does the same thing with souveran. The product description says 2-3 months durability while real world scenario is 2-3 weeks tops. My own personal experience along with many others will tell you the klasse twins...

What did I do wrong? New car paint now has scratches!

I take it you have no experience with klasse because it does not hid swirls and have little to no filling capabilities. KAIO is a chemical paint cleaner with a smidge of acrylic sealant. The use of the word glaze in the name doesnt necessarily put it in the same category as regular filler...

What did I do wrong? New car paint now has scratches!

There are a few things that caused the marring/scratches... 1. applicators 2. microfibers 3. KAIO removed the dealer applied glaze and revealed the paints true condition(most likely as KSG has a tendency to accentuate swirls) Polish out a section of paint and see if your applicator or towels...
