    Sap removal

All you need is denatured alcohol. If you look in your Audi owner's manual it might even recommend this as part of the routine paint washing and care instructions. Pour some denatured alcohol on a soft microfiber towel. Place the towel on the spot of sap and let it dwell for about 15 seconds...

Trouble removing stains from flower petals

Microfiber pads will definitely provide more correction ability compared to foam pads.

Trouble removing stains from flower petals

It is likely etched water spots in the pattern of the leaves that were sitting on the car. An acidic water spot remover could dissolve the stains out of the paint. If that fails, more aggressive compounding may be needed to fully remove the etchings. Or it could just be organic based stains from...

Leather Conditioner for Seats with tiny holes

Water, used frequently, is enough to rehydrate the leather and keep it supple. Conditioners are unnecessary on modern coated leather.

For stuff like that I usually try steam or Tar-X on a Q-tip.

    Detailers at Body Shops

Unfortunately body shops don't have the time, nor do they get paid enough, to polish every single panel to perfection. I think the standard insurance allowance for de-nibbing, texture matching and "buffing" is like 20 mins per panel or something crazy like that. I've also heard that claims...

    Gorilla Glass scratch

IIRC Gorilla Glass has a special coating on it that aids with the scratch resistance of the glass. Any polishing will likely remove this special coating and leave your phone's screen even more susceptible to scratches in the future.

    Experience With Ceramic Coatings

Ceramic Pro does not offer any significant scratch resistance beyond what CQuartz and other ceramic coatings offer. The entire "9H" story is a complete gimmick. The hardness of the coating has very little to do with actual scratch and mar resistance. You can do the "lighter test" with Meg's D156...

Tips you wish you would have known for CQuartz

The newer Costco microfiber towels actually aren't so bad. I only use them on paint when brand new out of the bag. Once washed they loose too much of their initial plushness. I also wouldn't try using them on soft, finicky paint systems but for that rock hard Audi clear they would probably work...

Tips you wish you would have known for CQuartz

I usually go through about 4 or 5 of the 4" applicator cloths per layer of CQuartz. And I'll usually use about 2 or 3 microfiber towels for leveling and wiping off the coating (per layer).

Tips you wish you would have known for CQuartz

Use LOTS of towels for wiping off the coating residue. The single microsuede wipe off towel that comes in the kit is nowhere near enough to level the coating without streaking... especially if you're doing two layers. I usually use one face of a towel per panel when leveling and buffing off...

    Brand new cars

A light polish will not damage your vehicle's new paint.

Dealing with very soft paint on a daily. Argh.

The first thing you need to do is identify what is causing the swirls and marring you're noticing. Is it your wash process, your drying process, or both? You can easily observe this by polishing a panel and waiting until your next wash (the vehicle should be slightly dirty to represent typical...

What kind of tires do you have? I've experienced issues with certain "off-road" TOYO tires always having brown residue no matter how much you clean them.

    Buffer Question

If you can, you should find a way to try them out and get a feel for how they all work. Honestly I think all of the newer machines have their pros and cons so which one you should get really comes down to personal preference. I can tell you that out of all the machines I own I reach for the...

Applied CQuartz UK over my car's clear bra wrapped hood

Quest for paint depth and gloss

All of my CQuartz Finest installs are minimum two coats. If you wanted to browse through our Facebook there are several examples of vehicles finished w/ Essence, x2 coats of CQFinest, and topped with Reload. In all honestly I never recommend anyone to purchase more than two coats because from a...
