    Dealing with "hack" detailers

Well I'm a old fat gray haired detailer that gets a lot of young guys telling me I'm too old to know about modern paints and products. My usual offer while in front of their peers is , you polish a test area and compare it to mine. Loser pays for a detail. I look at these incidents as a...

Stepped out to the shop early this morning and the shine was all over the floor after falling off of the truck. Where did I go wrong ? To save time I mixed my wash and decon product...

Quite the mystery - How soft can clearcoat/fresh paint be?

Kevin Brown has a method he has shared with those that have come across super soft paint that seems to scratch with just the use of a micro fiber towel. Basically he puts 5-6 drops of M205 into a 32oz. water bottle with sprayer. Basically water buffing. I will search and see if I can find his...

    PE-8 learning curve

Finishing with a rotary is possible but also a skill many don't have or had the opportunity to learn. Unless one was doing production work or in a hurry I would lean towards the da. If one was set on learning rotary skills it would be on a old beater or practice panels. that's just my opinion.

    Rupes LHR75 vs 75E

The air LHR75 is a beast. It does have a power advantage over the LHR75e IMO. I have both but some days I don't want to hear the compressor.

Best polisher to use on motorcycle

Rupes Mini or a LHR75. We do a lot of bikes and love both of these. Also if and when you want to go further a TA50 or the Harbor Freight 2" machine comes in handy. You could remove defects by hand but a machine reduces the process by hours.

    Pads & sizes

Changing the weights is a waste of time IMO unless you are sanding wood. I have run bp's from 6" -3" without any problems on my old PC.

    Best Topper for A Coating

Well we all know that Optimum is a pioneer in the coating business and it's hard to argue with their success in this field. They are now releasing Opti-Coat Pro +. It's a separate syringe containing what I would consider a topper for their OCP. If anyone knows about coatings I believe Dr.G...
